Playing $1/$1 cash game 10 handed, I have $100 stack.

It folds around to cutoff who raises it to $4.
I'm on the button with QQ and make it $12.
The small blind flat calls, the big blind and cutoff fold.
The flop comes J,8,4 rainbow he checks, I bet $25, he goes all in.
he has me covered by $3 haven't played with the player very much but he rebought in when I sat down and was all in twice on my first orbit. Seems fishy.

Call or fold?

Call. There's now $142 in the pot and it's $63 more to call. There's no way I'm folding an overpair in this spot. FWIW, I'd 3-bet pre to $16 personally, I don't like giving the CO odds to call with A-x or a low PP, and by raising it a little more PF, its easier to put your stack in OTF.

Sounds like he called your 3-bet with some PP or slowplayed AA/KK and trapped you. Thats poker. He's fishy enough to be shoving a lot of hands here, including sets, two pairs (i doubt any two pair combos are in his calling range though), any J, probably any 8, and he could easily do this with 10-10, 9-9, or other PPs because he thinks you have A-high.

id call with the over pair ur getting good odds to call. he probably has AJ here. u should have raised to 25 with QQ.

I'd call too...not that happy depending on villain. cold calls out of the blinds vs 3bets vs good opponents are scary and he's not shoving TT, or AK. That said, we don't know if he's solid, and we just aren't really deep enough to fold anyway.

People advising to 3bet more need to give better reasons. Why would you want to fold out hands that have hot and cold equity of < 30% versus you and even less equity than that just seeing the flop.

Why are we raising to 25 with 100 stacks?

im just saying with a hand like the villain has hed probably commit 25. so in the long run ud be more profitable with a bigger raise on QQ.

Just call. He rebought twice since you sat, he's just probably playing fishy and if he hit his 2-pair or something, ya got coolered.
