1/2. All the villains have about 200. Hero covers villains. No specific reads on the villains but my general impression is recreational loose passives.
Dead small. UTG limps, HJ limps, Button limps, hero with Q5o in BB calls.
Flop (8) 432dd
Hero checks. UTG bets 10. Hero?
I considered check-raising here as a bluff. I also considered calling since, if an ace falls on the turn or the river, hero has a good chance of getting action with his straight. I considered folding. With stack sizes relatively small, the implied odds aren't great. I'd be more inclined to call or raise if there wasn't a flush draw. Folding seems pretty nitty with the hero's pot equity. Your opinions?
Fold. Players rarely pay much more in limped pots. You are oop. Maybe you pick up another $20 if the A or 6 hits. And if it misses turn now you face another bet. And somwone might already have a straight in a limp pot
On a table with tight passives, I would consider betting out this flop or check-raising. With only six clean outs to the straight and a table of loose passives, hero decided to fold.
Folding is correct. A check raise here inflates an unraised pot and you're OOP so you can't take a free river card. Even if you hit your straight, you don't have the nuts. Simply calling here is typical loose passive play, and -EV.
