While many people didn't notice it, the pokerstove website has been shut down for quite a while. While there are other tools out there, it is for many long time players the tool to do analysis on hand situations. As has happened in the past, the latest version of pokerstove had a switch in it to shut down by a certain date, which is 1/1/14 for this version.

I have seen nothing that shows the authors are going to update it.

That leaves the option of finding a new tool to use (I know they are out there) or resetting your clock to 2003 (the last time Jan 1 was on a Wednesday).

If people are using other tools, let us know your experience.

Spoiler:
In just another test, we'll see how many people even care. Only one person asked about the pokerstove link after it was down for 9 months. It just reminds me why live games will remain good.

Probably because conscious live players use more friendly tools that are readily available on different smart phones.

Well, damn. I'm an old dog, and hate learning new tricks. Plus most of those apps do a bunch of things I don't want them to do, like report location.

Anyone recommend a simple, pokerstove-like tool that doesn't do anything extra?

Otherwise, I may have to ask my wife to hack the code and make it expire later...

Wow, this sucks. I tried to use it earlier. Thought there was something corrupted on my computer, cause I didn't remember it having an expiration date. I dunno, guess I'll look around. Maybe flopzilla?

Pokercruncher is basically a mobile version of pokerstove and is very easy and quick to use. It works really well, has everything I need and I like it more than stove to be honest

From the tutorial Pokercruncher is a solid alternative. It's only for Macs and wireless devices though. You know of anything that's made for a PC?

Ugh. Why would they do this? This is going to put me in serious life tilt. I'm far too busy/lazy to go digging around for a worthy replacement. Links greatly appreciated.

Also looking for a PC app or software here. It would be nice if there is something similar to pokercruncher as that is what I have on my phone and am quite happy with it.

And it is in many ways better than Pokerstove.

I was just looking around a bit for something to replace 'Stove... was thinking about Flopzilla... Any thoughts? $35 seems reasonable.

Anyone taken the time to look through the registry entries to see if the expiration date was an entry there? Then you could just change it to whatever date you wanted.

Also, check for the current version publish date.
If the current expiration date is set as a length of time from the publish date you could edit the amount of time or the publish date.

I'll look when I get home and I'm not on my mobile.
Just food for thought though.

I've been pokercrunching for a while now. You can email results and then copy and paste them into a thread, if need be, with the ranging format similar to pokerstove.

There's even a 2+2 link in the "help" section of the app:

I'm a Mac user and have been happy doing my away-from-the-table calcs in the Mac version of Slice. I haven't used the Windows version, but maybe y'all will now.

It seems Flopzilla has picked up the slack with what looks like an almost identical format to stove. It's free with flopzilla. Just came across it. Opened up on 1/1/14 which seems suspicious.

Flopzilla isn't precisely the same but it's very cool. Goes into exquisite detail on the likelihood of flopping things like flush draws (surprisingly hard) and straight draws (surprisingly easy).

Currently I mainly use poker sniper on my iPhone.
