You can't edit them in this late, and really shouldn't anyway, as it would make response posts look weird and most people don't go back to re-read the OP if they've been following the thread anyway.

Just post them like you did.

(derail) Not questioning you but questioning Bart:
1. I have played literally thousands of live hrs 1/3 and never found a game that standard open was $9 (3x). $15 is most common. And of course impossible for 5/T. Wonder if Bart meant 2/5?
2-3. Almost any late night big city 1/3 games..
4. Yeah unusual for 1/3

Thanks for the derail, I love talking about TX poker.

To be fair I’m infusing my reasoning with things Bart has said. So I take responsibilities for errors in the description. I actually have very little experience with poker outside of TX, be that as it may.

There’s a couple other things that inflate the size of pots. First, TX 1/3 is largely uncapped or match the stack. Most players buy in for 1k. Not unusual for there to be 20k on the table by midnight. This by itself doesn’t increase the SPR. What does is bad play from loose passives like double cold-calling a raise and a 3-bet with crap you wouldn’t believe — I saw 86o shown down yesterday, played as a UTG 5x open and call to 3bet (at 100 BBs). My favorite personal example is the following. At 1-3 with a 10 straddle, action player (50/10) opens UTG to 30, call, call, call, call, I squeeze BB with ATs to 225 hoping to isolate, call, call, call, call, all-in for slightly less. 6 ways for 1.4k pot, all-in ends up scooping with K6s for trip 6s. (Squeeze was a huge mistake, in retrospect. I’ve had to adjust my ranges quite a bit depending on composition of the table.)

Of course that hand is inflated by the straddle, but still, absurd calls preflop end up contributing significant dead money in every pot. The game plays a lot bigger because of the multi-way action.

Point being that to speak about 100BB or 250BB absolutely and devoid of context (such as ranges, SPR, etc) isn’t useful IMO. Part of the issue with 2+2 is that we all have very different conditions in our regular games and we’re often giving advice under the wrong assumptions about the OPs game.

Somebody commented earlier that you should have x/f turn if you cant stomach getting jammed on. Personally I think it's a huge leak when people 3bet preflop then take one stab on the flop and fold. You should be auto-barreling turn nearly 100% of the time no matter what you have, because it's far too exploitable for people to just peel one on the flop with anything they have. Even the most novice of players have become familiar with the elusive "flop continuation bet" and practically expect it by instinct alone. Cbetting is like the single biggest strategy any of them know, so it cant be your only play.

That being said the decision point is whether to check this flop. I'd be betting my gutshots with backdoor draws and overcards most of the time EXCEPT i hate doing so on these J/T high flops. Someone always has a pair in a 3bet pot on these textures because it just smacks of their calling ranges, and what happens next? They call your cbet and then you better pray you bink it on the turn or just go allin. So decision point #2 with your less than stellar cbet is to just ship it. I dont know why you're pretending to value bet here, you cant fold and he doesnt care whether you made it $100 or $150, so make it sting and give him something to really think about. JAM! Your overcards are still likely good if you make even a single pair.
