Just sat down at a 1.50/1.50 table seen 4 hands havent played any yet, no read. bought in for max 150, table dynamics.
3 regular 2 known 4 unknown, friend texted me prior to arrival saying it was tight game.

Hero is regular winning known by most in the room.

Hero UTG with KK limped with intention to reraise pre.

call, call call (oh no, trap fail) V1 SB check his option and so does BB
V1 white about 30 seen him before never played with him tattooes all over, cover me.

flop(9) KQ4
V1 bet 4, hero reraise to 10 all other folds V1 calls.

Turn (29) 8 V1 check hero bet 20 V1 calls.
River (69) A V1 bets 35

i have no reads on V so he can have missed flushdraw complete his open ended, bluff or 1, 2 pair.

is this a call or jam in this spot?

This isn't really a good situation for limp/raise with KK to begin with. Table is mostly unknown but you where warned it's tight. The limp/raise is much better at loose/aggressive tables.

In any case, I just call river here against an unknown. There are just not enough hands that can pay off your jam because you block most of the viable two pair combinations. AQ is really it, and even that might fold after the straight got there. Villain has to be really bad or really stationary before jamming river here is good.

You lose to 16 combos of JT. His range includes 9 combos of AQ and 1 A8s that are likely to call a shove. (Discount # of combos as you like.) He has lower sets here approximately never, and it's really unlikely he's calling a shove with Axs. I suppose it's possible he can have a weakly played AK (3 combos) or a horribly played A4 (9 combos), which could contribute a couple more combos that might call a jam. I think jamming is probably slightly -EV, but it's closer than I thought initially.

Agreed, but we have to at least assign some probability to that being the case, don't we?

I would AT LEAST min raise in this spot. His bet of 35 looks very value and perhaps he got lucky with that A. Perhaps a nut high flush draw with a pair of queens or fours.

Shoving here imo will almost never get called unless he holds the nuts (JT). I like to min raise for value here.
