1/2 live

Villain isn't a station and doesn't value bet thinly because he's scared of bigger hands. He limps fairly strong hands like ATs in late position in an unopened pot. He is weighted toward value by ive seen him fire a decent sized bluff on a missed draw.

Hero is the effective stack at 300.

Other two villains are passive stations.

Limp, Villain limps the HJ. Sb calls. Hero checks JTo in the BB.

Pot: 8

Flop JT2 two spades. Check, hero bets 10, fold, villain raises to 20. I think this is a random jack the vast majority of the time, I think he would call with his draws or maybe raise bigger.

I think raising is almost always best but vs this villain I opted to call. There are action killing turns but I don't think his medium jacks are going to continue vs a raise. I think it's close though.

Pot:48.

Turn Offsuit K.

Check, V bet 30 I call.

River: offsuit 6.

Check, v bets 60. Hero calls.

I think calling is correct here and usually this is a slam dunk call when the board pretty much bricks off. The problem is if my read is right that he's doing that minraise to find out where top pair is at thing I'm in trouble. He's not turning a jack into a bluff which means he probably has KJ. The thing is folding seems absurd because that's a lot of faith to put on a bet sizing read since him having busted draws here is perfectly reasonable. THrere is also definitely a spazz out factor of him like pocket 8's and just going crazy.

I'd 3-bet the flop small since this typically is a "find out where he's at" raise by villain, and there are a lot of bad run outs for TPGK hands he has that will kill our action.

As played, I'm fine with the turn and river calls.

I think you could have played it stronger on the flop, but ultimately this pot ends up at a respectable 230 or so on the river after not being raised pre-flop.

You have a solid, but far from nut hand against a villain who probably has a slightly better or worse hand. I can't see folding this anywhere but at the same time if you played it any stronger you're either losing or making less money when he folds earlier.

So overall fine on turn and river as played on flop. I think I like a 3! on flop b/c he's probably drawing or has Tx/Jx and you're blocking the top two sets. The turn obviously kinda sucks, but I couldn't get away from this hand for 2 half-pot bets.

Ok in hindsight I'm leaning toward not reraising flop being a small mistake the more I think about it. I can't soul read him off having draws although I do still think that bet is weighted toward one pair.

That being said, since he limps medium strength hands like ATs he could easily have a decent jack here. A flop raise would have to be small but it's still probably better than just calling. A final small benefit is I don't think he's gonna ship it with a draw so if he does ship it I can avoid getting coolered by 22.

Villain had KJ. It made a lot of sense and fit but since his value range was so narrow I think calling is fine. I could be wrong and he could have draws plus spazz out factor.
