yeah you can pick you spots to open a little light and hopefully win some pots with flop cbets is pretty much how you eek out a profit in this type of game. setting up multistreet big bluffs can be rewarding but the board has to run out with scare cards vs and obv strong range from tight villains.
Don't go overboard though 3betting light seems like a recipe for disaster if nits are only opening super strong hands in the first place.

table change please, though I rarely see 1/2 games that quite that tough

Playing in a game full of nits is easy. That is not what this is. This is a table of players that is better than you. You should probably leave unless there are weak spots in the table and you think a seat change would change the dynamics for you.
