As for your comment, as I said, my advice wasn't "wrong", it was just not the most +EV decision, because WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER POST 100% TRUE ADVICE ON A STRAT FORUM UNLESS THEY WERE EITHER BAD AT POKER OR REALLY REALLY DUMB, and even that decision was better than your advice, which was probably the worst possible line you could take other than overbet shoving the river. The fact that you think levels are ridiculous shows you have 0 sense of humor...go look at the Medium stakes 6 max forum, sure it may not allow offtopic threads, but the stars reg thread is filled with flame wars and calling people out/insults and from my brief viewing of the strat threads, they are FILLED with levels and no one cares, because most people have senses of humor...but I guess it's hard to have that when you can't win at poker and need to use a forum to try and remedy that situation. It's also funny how you out only me for posting levels, when there are at least 2 people that level just as hard if not harder than I do, and many more that level less often but still a lot...but you probably don't notice any of it.

As for you making a living from poker, I'd be absolutely shocked if you made over 80k a year...if you consider that more than a breakeven/marginal winner, then that's just because you have extremely low standards. It's also not hard to make a living when you're single and living in vegas with cheapass housing...I don't see how that proves in any way that you are good at poker. In fact, there are people playing 50nl who most likely are making a living from poker also...does that make them good? All the strat posts I've seen from you have been suboptimal, yet you think you're some sort of authority on what is "good advice" because you're a mod?

Fact of the matter is, you ignore every point you can't argue with and just nitpick and post misleading information. How come you didn't respond to the fact that this forum has 1 more offtopic thread than the Small ring forum, or the fact that the only people who want to post strat are breakeven players such as yourself, or the fact that PRACTICALLY EVERYONE DOES AGREE with wanting flame wars/off topic threads

I'm not really sure but I'm assuming it's the reds who want strategy only in this forum. Also assuming the greens job is to carry out the wishes of the reds.

As for me being a good writer or whatever, ty I appreciate the compliments but I really feel that writing is one of my weaker points...I think it's just that it's so hard to disagree with my logic because it's almost always correct that it makes my writing ability look better than it is.

fwiw, i only post nitty advice because usually the original poster in of the hand i comment on is a huge nit and his opponents probably think of him that way as well and are therefore not giving him very loose action

i think a little more respect needs to be shown to soah because it isnt as if he is getting paid to babysit us.

i can understand both sides to this argument. it is not as if we absolutely NEED more off topic threads because as soah says there are other forums and a monthly thread.

however, there is either 0, 1, or rarely 2 strategy threads started here per day. so there is no harm in starting more off topic threads. if we dont do that then there is going to be only one thread started per day in this forum. so what is the point of that?

The problem is, no one wants a babysitter...everyone here is 18+, why would anyone need a babysitter. It's not like these forums are out of control or victim to a spammer making 30+ threads about the same topic in 1 hour. If a babysitter came to you irl tomorrow and started to babysit you for free of charge, would you show them respect? I hope not, because in order for people to get respect, they need to do things to earn it. I can't think of one thing that any of the mods have done in the past 5+ months to earn respect.

As for not getting paid, please, the mods don't care about that. All of the mods are more than happy to be mods, because it gives them an ego and a sense of accomplishment. It's not like modding is even a remotely hard job either. Keep in mind that none of the mods on this forum are more than breakeven players, so by being mods they have some sort of sense of accomplishment...something they can't get from poker like the rest of us can. The green title alone is more than enough payment for them.

And to Renton, I'm not going to turn this thread into a "let's educate all of the fish and correct everyone's poker advice", but you post a TON of misleading info...two things I will say because I think they are obvious...#1 when you talked about folding 33 utg in a 7 handed game, and #2 when you told supreme20 over AIM to just call a 4 bet in position with AKs.

You slightly mistaken waht renton said about that hand. He advocated a preflop flat call, which is results oriented in nature and still incorrect imo. I flat called in the hand by my own fault, there are some suble reasons why its not as bad as youd think, but i do think shoving it in is probably standardisible. =)
