Hand: $2/5 live cash. Sitting mega-deep. CO raises $30 over a limper, BTN calls, SB squeezes Ah6h to $160, limper folds, CO calls, BTN calls. Flop 10c7d3s. Hero leads $140 into ~$500, BTN folds, CO calls and BTN folds. Turn Ad. Hero x/c CO $325. River 10s. Hero checks, CO jams his remaining ~$1.2k. Hero?
I feel like we should fold this combo as we have better Ax (AK, AQ namely) to call with and some 10x rivered trips (Qh10h, etc) we can call with... Obviously, boats too. What is the correct play here? Hard to imagine bluffs in this spot–– in real time, I thought of 8d9d. Only read on Villian was that he looked like he played a lot and had a rolex (makes me more inclined to call tbh, lol). Granted, in two to three hours of play he had VPIPed like 15%.
On a broader note, I am generally confused how to play pairs OOP when sitting mega-deep. I had two times where I squeezed AA out of the blinds at $5/10 and played them both as checks on flops that were medium textured (J 7 4 two-tone, 2 7 10 rainbow, etc.). If we are looking to extract only one or two streets of value with hands like Ah6h and AA while also avoid playing bloated pots, how should we adjust our checking, betting, and calling ranges when 400++ bb deep?
