If I've counted correctly we have the 23rd nuts, now maybe some of them are more likely to put more money in before now and some are a bit less likely (like Q2s) ... but there are only 14 possible worse flushes, and a bunch of those are much less likely (like 72s). Realistically there's 5-6 worse flushes.

Maybe someone slow played a set and will call a turn raise praying for a board pair, but eh ... just call AINEC.

Thanks for all the replies. I agree v2 leading into the field is strong. When v1 called, I thought it was likely he had a big spade and v2 doesn't ALWAYS have a better flush here so I quickly settled on raise. I was %100 folding if v2 raises and planning to x river if v2 x.

Moving on......

$6 UTG straddle is on. V1 ($400) limps from +1, 3 other ppl ($200-$600) limp to H OTB w/ JsTs

H over limps, SB folds, BB (V2) calls, straddle checks. 7 ways to a flop...

Flop: ($37) Ad 4s 6s

Checks to H otb, I check.

Turn: ($37) Ad 4s 6s 8s

V2 bets $20, folds to V1 who immediately calls. Folds to H who raises to $100. V2 thinks for about 30 seconds and calls, v1 folds.

River: ($275) Ad 4s 6s 8s Jh

V2 checks. H?

How often is this V check raising river with a bluff vs small sizings? You say he plays like you, would you CR vs a $125 sizing? Seems like you are good over 50% of the time you get called with that size pretty easily, but if he is the type to CR any weakness I can see a case for bet folding $250ish or just checking back.

Follow through with your plan and check. It seems really nitty but based on your description of V2 the only hands we’re looking to get called by are sets, 9s7s, and 5s3s. And he has many better flushes.

I have no problem believing he checked the nuts to you here thinking you would bet for him with any hand that you would call with.

Any other thoughts on bet or check?

I check back given V2's description of being tight. Less likely to have low flushes or payoff if he does.

Late to the party but I...

Happily overlimp preflop against this many limpers (many of whom have dominating hands).

Pretty cool with checking back the flop. FE is low this multiway (even with no one showing interest). Betting to perhaps buy a free card can backfire (getting check/raised or donked into). And could just be building a pot versus a better draw. I'd be much cooler with betting with a nuttish draw.

And with thoughts of "not going broke in a limped pot" I just call the turn and use my position and further information to make a good decision on the river.

ETA: As played, I don't see enough people tarp here to this action (although they could still have better and just be wary), so I probably bet/fold very small on the river (like lol $75 or whatever).

Also late ... I'd X back river given card removal to worst flushes, and the strength V showed leading into a bunch of opponents OTT.

His 2-pair+ hands are unlikely to call a bet, and if we use small sizing, there is a risk of getting blown off our hand.

Pre - even though we are on the BTN, I'd raise with some frequency, in particular given V2 is in the BB.

also late to the party

1st off I think we ID"D why V moved seats. (to put the brakes on your plays so he can be table captain)

pre ok with limp
flop ok with check
as played I check back river happy to collect a pot with J 10 .

He would have been even more salty if you had just called turn!

i think this hand really illustrates some of the dynamics of family limped pots in live nlhe games. you need to be very cautious when everyone and their brother sees the flop for a bb or a straddle
