Hope I'm not wearing out my welcome. Another hand I would like to get some feedback on though.

Playing $40-$100 buy in 1/2 NLHE. I am in the SB on this hand and have a stack around $90. Villian is MP2 and has a stack of around $40 (min buy in). He has just sit down at the table (maybe five hands prior).

PF: Hero has AA. Villian and two others limp. Hero raises to $10. Villian calls, MP1 calls. Pot - $28.

Flop: KsQsJh. ****.
Hero: Bet - $10. MP1 folds. Villian shoves for $28.

Now I'm in a tough spot. I had seen Villian play a K9 a couple hands earlier and take down a pot when he paired the 9s. He seems to be capable of playing KK, KQ, KJ, maybe even KT. On the other hand, if I draw A or a T I have some nuts. I call.

Comments?

BTW - Villian shows KQ. Leaves me A, T, J for a winner (9 outs). Villian spikes a K on the river for a boat.

Destined to get it in with such short stacks. As you said, you were live to some outs on most of his likely range, and could have been ahead. Can't fold AA for an all-in pot sized bet of ~15 BBs. Maybe if you and villain were both >100BB deep you could get away based on your read?

raise more pre. 3BB+1BB/limper is not enough in live games. should usually be between 7-10BB anyways.

obvi on the flop you can't fold.

and no, you can't wear out your welcome as long as you post hands and not lc threads.

you have to get it in here honestly you can raise to about 12 dollars and when betting at lesat make is half pot but 20 dollars is way better then ten here in the long run

it doesn't matter with stacks this short... hero gets it all in on the flop no matter what.

When you get called preflop the 2 villains limp/call range is pretty much {QJs, KQs, KTs, KJs, JTs} = suited broadways + {22-99} = small pairs.

Raise more preflop, snap call his all-in on the flop...he is not nearly deep enough for you to find a fold here.

Be glad he only had $28 left behind and call that last $18.

With 9 outs on the turn and potentially picking up an additional 3 outs before the river... you aren't as crushed as it seems. Granted, the K on the river negates all the aforementioned outs, but you still have to call here. (i.e., refuse to look at this hand from a results-oriented perspective)

sidenote: Am I reading this as there being a $100 max buy-in? Lame.

Yeah. Welcome to Southern California poker. Most 1/2 or 1/1 games are even worse -Commerce's standard 1/2 is a $40 max buy in. Where I play, I have choices of 1/1 $40 max, 2/2 $100 max, 1/2 $40-100 max, 1/2 $40-$200 max. And even at the $200 game, most buy in for somewhere between the min and $100.

Ouch! Then again, every place has its drawbacks I guess. While I can put whatever I want on the table in the underground Houston games... the rake is 10% up to $100 plus $2 for jackpot/prizes. Which makes me laugh when I see people complaining about $5 max rakes in Vegas rooms.

still... I don't think I would ever sit at a game where max buy in is 50bbs.

Yeah. No rakes in SoCal. Just a drop. Either 3+1 or 4+1 where I play.

I don't have a whole lot of choice. Even the deeper stacked games are things like 5/10 500-1500. And many folks still buyin for the minimum. I need to stick to the lower limit games for a while to build br, so I'm kind of stuck with what's there.

call, don't need to think about it. I guess you could raise more preflop but either way I think they'd call and you'd still lose it all.
