I get to McDonalds right on time. No Garick in sight. I call him and he said I am turning onto Powers and will be there in 5 minutes. I decide to go inside and buy a chocolate shake. It serves two purposes: chocolate shake, ldo and it gives me some $1's for the pre gamboool gamboool. They put a cherry in it. The whip cream is cool, but a cherry?!? I am outraged. I swear I tasted the cherry the whole time. Yuck.




Garick finally shows up like 30 minutes late. Claims he got lost, but I am pretty sure he had a dope deal to make. Pulls up to McDonalds, where ballas ball, throwing up 2+2 gang signs. [x] ex gang banger confirmed.




We get to the site and he hooks me up with some ribs which I am going to eat when I am done with this. They look good! CARWB delivers.


I walk in and start taking $10 flips on 7 card stud. Lose. Garick and I start taking $1 flips on 2-11 and I come up $1. Ballin IMO.




Tournament starts. I am crushing dreams and Garick is getting his dreams crushed. That's my chip stack in like the 2nd or 3rd round. It got way bigger. Garick got down to one 25 chip and managed to get it back to 4K. Won like 4 pots in a row trippling and quadrupling up. LOL. Garick busted and I took some 1st place points and decent monies.




Garick grabs me at break and says take a pic of this. This is his cash game stack at that time. Ballin with like 400BBs. There was a guy sitting at the table who won a BBJ the day before and had a stack of hundo's on the table. Garicks stack soon turned into.....





This and less. Garick throwing up gang signs again. [x] might not be an ex gang banger, but a current one. He took some dirty ones in the cash game. I ended up losing like $240 in the cash game. Was $300 but I did a $20 4 way Omaha flip on the way out the door and KKK3 was good. Wiiiiiiiiii. We both came up, but we should of had way more. All in all a fun night. Wish I would of taken a picture after he lost against 42o. Was epic. He even flipped me off at one point and told me to Eff myself. LOL.

Yes that is an $8 double straddle in front of Garick. I talked him into it somehow. I was doing $16's and 8's all night. Gambooooool!!!

The good news is that all the bills that made their way out of my stack were Jacksons (and at one point, Washingtons when one of the donks reloaded with 8 dollars in ones and a five). The Grants and Benjamins were kind enough to stay put.

I've been thinking about grinding out some NL4 on Merge, just to build up the hands to get the coaching. The game is stupid reg-infested, since it's the only non-shady site where Americans can play. NL4 is *way* tighter than $2/5 LLNL, and def not worth the time to play it for money, in my opinion, but might be worthwhile for practice and to build database for analyzing.

Normally I tell people they need 50k hands. That said, there is actually some utility in analyzing a sample as small as 10k hands, provided that the 10k hands are not horribly skewed by variance.

Playing online is a great idea for developing good habits. If you have even a few medium-sized leaks in your game, it's hard to beat most of the micro stakes games.

QFT. I've already noticed that some hands that are profitable in LLNL are very hard to play in uNL online, and that FPS punishes one much worse there (by BBs, obv, not $$s)

The thing that amazes me most about the micros right now is how tough they are compared to last year. Last year my free coaching sessions with micro grinders focused on plugging very basic leaks, such as open limping in early position. None if the regs have basic leaks like that this year; my free coaching sessions now focus on intermediate level concepts that I didn't learn until I was playing small stakes or maybe the high micros.

If you took the mpethy that was playing NL 50 and 100 back in march 2010 and put him HU against your average NL $10 player of today, he'd get his ass stomped.

It's just really amazing how quickly the field of micro grinders went from lol bad to solid.
