just got to FW for the evening and LOLDONKING it up at the 2/5 game. Stuck 450. I've opened Q4o, 95s, 88... And 3b squeezed K8s over a min raise and some callers....

Whee.. Gotta focus.

Why would court take your poker money but not your wage from work?

You have good fundamentals. But you don't have that mental to make it to the top. You lucky you didn't get 86'ed forever.

Can't we vote this idiot off the island?

Whoever unbanned him should be unmodded. Do IP bans not work or what? I couldn't imagine he'd be smart enough to get around an IP ban.
Being bad at poker while thinking you are terrific is not a bannable offense. Engaging in repeated personal attacks on posters is, however.

Just sayin'

masa usually the Friday after TG at FW is like thebest day of the year in the poker room, there will be lots of games. Ill be there donking it up at 1/2 nl. finally crushing lately after months of running meh at best. another month of grinding will prob be ready to start playing 2/5 again. best of luck. I find the regs there to be easy to exploit with either value bets or firing multiple barrels (Air) vs depending on the player.

Al Krux still play there? I played a weekend at TS of 5/10 with him a few years ago and would love to play versus him on a daily basis.

Lol. 2/5 is rally relaxing after work!

Just happened:
- 3 limpers, I complete 67dd in SB , BB chk
- flop K65r.. I lead 20, 2 callers
- turn: 6... I lead 75, villain snap calls, other dude folds
- river: 8o... I ship (only) 380..... Dude tanks for 5mins, flips over AA, and CALLS!

Yep!

<shrug> you can't personally attack other posters. Period. Saying someone screwed up a hand is not a problem, even if you're wrong and the poster played it fine. Saying someone is an idiot, or that only an idiot would do x when x is what the poster did are personal attacks, and get moderator attention.

In other news:

I got 4 bet light last night in a 1/2 game!

I have $450 in front of me, villain covers. Villain is a good player, on the list for 2/5, friend of a winning 2/5 reg. His main leak is that he's playing too lag, opening too wide.

The rest of the table is pretty bad, calling raises with trash, etc etc. So villain raises to $8 UTG+1 gets a call from MP1. I'm MP3 with KJo, and I don't like calling and probably inviting in 2 or 3 more calls, but villain's on a wide range, so I 3 bet him to $32. Folds back around to him, and he makes it $101 pretty fast. I know instantly I'm folding, but I take a few seconds to Hollywood before I fold. While I'm hollywooding, he goes "jacks?" And I say "please. Really?" and muck. He says well what did you have 67 hearts?" I say, "no, queens, I can't stack them off that deep preflop."

Couple hours later we're racking up at the same time, I ask him what he actually had, and he told me 76 hearts, lol.

Fun night. He and I fought some pretty interesting smallish battles, and the rest of the table was pretty juicy.

Thanks to those who assisted with the thread.
I really like the content of this COTM with the emphasis on different player types and exploiting their weaknesses postflop. The hand examples were very good, particularly commentary on continuation ranges. Definitely believe, however, that this COTM required more editing and could have been better organized. Anyway, valuable information, in the end

Ya, it would be better served if more organized.

Would you ever consider stacking-off with QQ against this LAG? What about AK? Can you ever flat with these hands since you're IP? At any point, did you "smell" something "light" when he 4bet?

I was 4bet light, the other night on 2/4, 300BB deep. Villain hadn't been out-of-line for 4hrs and I saw him limp-call a BB shove with AK earlier. I 3bet the B/N from the S/B, and this guy just limp-4bets me from C/O! I Hollywood fold my low s/c and he rolls over K9s. Gotta learn how to 5bet-bluff, sometime, I guess.

@mpethy Ive been light 4bet at llsnl. Young clean cut kid, had battled w me once before, anmd is usually a disciplined vpip ~20 player, but has seen my antics at the table. 1 3 nl, I limp 45o utg, he raises to 12, 1 callers to me, I make it 55. He makes it 165. I fold, he shows 63cc; 'nice hand, sir'... After that it was on like donkey kong bt us (on the table, he's a good dude); one leveling fest after another.

To quote him:
'Normally when I do something like that people slow down; you've just accelerated into me since then'

Also, I think I'm spewer utg than in the blinds, I'm an honorary old man coffee when calling raises from the blind.

I have been 4bet light live twice that I know off.
Both were against players that I had 20+ hours of history with and both times I was actually 3betting lightish and I folded to their 4bets and they showed their bluffs.
I have also been 4bet occasionally where I folded JJ-QQ and they showed TT-JJ or AK but they werent really bluffing, it just worked out that way.
