post of the year imo

Haven't you watched A Bronx Tale?

That's it. Pack up your things and leave, NOW! I had enough of you, mister.

Your butt-grabbing friend Garick is done as well.

I mean I have to shop, get groceries, etc, and that all takes time. I also have to put effort instead of resting whereas if I eat, I can eat at the casino or while waiting and getting my mind ready for grinding.
for the love of god take a break from poker if this is the way you think sol!

$EV you would save money cooking yourself, and I am not talking about Top Ramen. If you played poker 24/7, then yes I could see why eating out would be the better choice. But you could take one day a week, 2 hours top (if that) and make meals for the entire week. I guarantee you could find 2 hours of free time to make meals. Maybe add an hour into that equation to grocery shop. Or by bulk one time a month and save a few hours. I am not going to debate your reasoning why you don't do it because that's a personal choice. I am just saying that you could be +$EV making your own meals independent of personal choice and lifestyle. If we were to bet, obviously we're not, but if we were I would bet that cooking your own meals would save you money with the kicker that lifestyle and personal choice plays no role into the equation. Everyone has a few hours a week to spare.

Well I sometimes cook with my gf, I just mean I wouldn't like to cook every day. I don't spend most of my time grinding, but I do stuff like taking walks and stuff instead of cooking to wind down.

I guess using cooking as a way to relax and be away from poker is nice. I know it's a nice experience and thing to do, I'm just not as good as it, and also it's not as good as a way of getting food in a cost efficient way.

You're just jealous because you can't find juicy home games like me, and you take it out on Garick because he reaps the benefits.

OH, like bulk meals.

No I make those too. Like I used to make a pot of curry and just have it for half the week or something. I meant like cooking more elaborate meals.

My cooking friends don't consider it cooking though since essentially I just pour instant curry, coconut milk, and cut up various vegetables, and then throw them into the pot. Basically.

I like get a bunch of vegetables and mash up my own salad with some prawns and so on at times too I guess, but that's the extent of it. I mean yeah I agree things like that are definitely worth it. Maybe just a bowl of pasta to last a day or two, etc.

Main character in the movie was chasing after some kid for few dollars. The mafia boss grabs him and says something about how you don't have to worry about the kid anymore, and he won't ever bother you again for a measly few dollars.

Basically you know the kid's worth.

In your case, $400 got rid of a guy that is likely to cost you more than $400 in implied odds.

I actually do wish I have a poker buddy that I can trust. I had two of those, one moved to Vegas and the other has a job that pays him gazallion dollars.

None of my friends would ever call me cheap. They do chuckle about my frugal ways at times. Particularly when I say something about hitting a sale at Save-a-lot.

I respect my money and the value of items I purchase. Over the years I have learned where cutting corners wasn't really saving me anything, and that sometimes paying more up front saves money on the back end.

If I stay in Atlanta, my home is paid for in 4 years or less. I have no other debt, and my next vehicle will be paid for in cash (although i may charge $20K of it on my CC to get my 2% cash back and then pay the CC bill the next month).

I do still struggle at times letting myself enjoy some extras I can easily afford. In 16 years at this job, I have never taken a "real" vacation. I have taken time off to visit family and friends, but never a cruise, a trip to the beach or anything. I have always used the excuse that I travel for work so I don't see the need, but I am going to make that change soon. If I stay in my current job (60/40 right now), I will have 26 days of vacation to use in the next year. I see BigSkip's first trip to Vegas on the horizon.

I live with my gf and even that is a stretch, my buddies who have roommates are stuck in perpetual children

If traveling for work and visiting friends and family aren't "real" vacations, somehow I doubt Vegas would be.
