Yeah, but really, the ability to mooch off of everyone else's rake was more like a loophole that would eventually be closed. Those guys will have to realize that they have to do something different, or accept a pay cut. It's possible that something happens to mitigate their difficulties, but WC is going to hurt those guys just like WTA would.

WTA and WC are both more "fair" redistributions of rake than dealt was, and then the question becomes what to do with the extra money going into Stars' pockets because of it.

Full disclosure - running the script being passed around, I'll generate VPPs 5% slower under WC.

I would happily take the hit of lower vpps/rb if at least a decent proportion of that money was used to offset rake at the micros. Rake at 10nl/25nl etc etc, is just so absurd it makes it very difficult for many players to beat and for the money to flow up to the higher stakes. I don't think increasing the number of vpps per $ helps so much in this situation for the health of the games, yes all the grinders will end up with more effective rakeback but all the fish/micro players end up with just a load of vpps they're going to spend on stress balls.

I think it's going to need some fine balancing between reducing rake and maybe increasing the number of vpps distributed but imo i would prefer it directed more towards the former rather than the latter. Another possible important change would be to allow smaller amounts of fpps to be changed into $'s on the site.

I do hold some hope that whatever happens there will at least be some positive change after these meetings. Even if it is just an increase in vpps (though not ideal in my own mind) i would still be happier with it than without.

As is, i think the 40bb players at small/mid stakes are going to get well and truly raped by the switch to WC, which can not be a bad thing.

What would be the effect of significantly increasing the rake cap at higher stakes so say an average size pot at 10/20 is raked $10 for example? Obviously using this to offset rake at micros/small stakes??

overall it seems like WC is a better change, i mean we don't want games to be unable to fill since 75% of the 'regs' can't even BE with RB since they can't win a pot w/o the nizzles.

i agree WTA is better, but that's from a selfish standpoint, and it seems like it will damage the number of tables over time.

even less games would run would be the main effect imo, and there's no way robbing an extra $5 here and there would balance out the 100s more pots being raked at uNL-ssnl. not that i've done the math or w/e

I don't see how it's fair at all that a $60 pot is raked $3, and a $60,000 pot is also raked $3.

What if WTA puts VPP tokens in the pot? Recreational players might like that. Now the pot is bigger, and the only way to get those points is to win the pot! Just an idea that might make the games better with WTA, but I can't be sure.

I would love to see the numbers on the effects of capping rake at every level at 4% up to a max of one sb, my gut says that it would hv a very positive impact on the poker ecosystem.

Nah, he most likely will blow up like mossified. I think I really got to mossified's nerves and he started 3betting me and 4betting me like a monkey. But a lot of it was just fullblown monkey spew because I adjusted right away.

Unless supernitty players get coaching, they will just blow up if they try to open up their game. And luckily there are not very many, if any, good fullring coaches at 400NL+.
