Yea c'mon, there are plenty of worse vid makers than Rika. It's more laughable that some of the coaches out there charge what they do.

I am with pizzle, this guy is a marginal winner tops. And I don't mind marginal winners making videos, look at damnringer he makes decent videos (ouch, forever hate from ringer now on ). But Rika is LOL, LOL, LOL because he says such ridiculous stuff such as

* Pizzle has a leak. He checkraises rivers 0% over 2.2K sample.

Like the checkraise river stat really converges anytime soon. LOL LOL LOL. And then if you check rika's check raise river over a million hands its a whopping 1.6%!!!! While Pizzle's is greater than 3% over a million hands. LOL LOL LOL. You have to be kidding!!!!!

* He calls RobSainter and I quote "a decent player." LOL LOL LOL. No comments on this one

* He says robsainter might call his 3bet, when sainter is OOP, higher than usual in this instance. LOL LOL LOL. Robsainter has never called a 3bet OOP, period (well maybe against scout). Of course he gets quickly 4bet and folds. Oops.

Those were just random examples that I recall.

Rika, look my man. The time has passed you by. Obviously you are busy with some other stuff going on in your life, maybe graduate school or something. Please stick to videos 200NL and lower. If you decide to venture back to 400NL, please head back to the classroom.

Where is Rika's video?

Rika may not be the best player anymore, but he has been around forever thats for sure. If I remember correctly, he owns a ton of rental apartment property now and hardly needs poker as income anymore. Maybe that is why he isn't as good a player as he used to be 5 years ago.

he plays 13/9/3 at FR. he has nothing new to teach anyone at midstakes about actual FR game play. I'm not saying he can't win a marginal amount, but he bumhunts midstakes and never grinds. Plus he's never really put in enough hands at 2/4 or 3/6 for me to consider him to be a reg. Simply put he should be making vids for microstakes or maybe small stakes players, maybe. or make vids about how to buy apartment complexes or whatever.

I'm just saying that I'm very surprised that leggo is paying him to make videos, and as someone who has a subscription to leggo I find that their lineup of instructors has gotten pretty stale and he's just one example.

He was playing 2/4 since before the days of PTR IIRC. Everything you've said may be true, but his graph is still decent at PTR. Also, he was bragging in 2006 about buying apartment complexes. I suspect the real-estate bubble hit apartment complexes just as hard as homes, so maybe this is why he is still playing poker.

But I found it very funny to see loco come after someone who has been smart enough to invest his poker monies in good, and who can now earn close to 1 million$ yearly - according to the thread - without even playing a hand/working hard.

On top of that, our dear loco is complaining about games being dead, blah blah, and basically calling the guy an idiot.....

This is completely inaccurate. I suspect that if no training videos had ever been made, the games would have gotten tougher at perhaps only 65% the rate that they have. They in no way make the games better.

Well obv.... All I said is that bad video makers are good for the games ; Of course games would be better if poker videos didn't exist.

but they do. So I'm glad a vast majority of them are not so good, and even more happy that some of them are really really bad.

I often wonder if the guys that created CR feel bad about it now. I'd bet they do. And I seriously suspect coaching sites have realized they need to diluate good information. a lot.

No I am serious, I am on a short leash because of my strategy posts. But I think the mod is cool with me bashing the online regs. Just can't bash the live pros. Which is fine with me since I am not posting strategy anymore. It would suck if I can't bash doublefly anymore though.
