Hero is sitting with 700 at 1/2. Winning player, solid image. Haven't been bluffing or getting out of hand. (BB)

V1- Dead money, doesn't know the rules, has mentioned being in jail too many times. Nice guy, bad player. (mp) 300

V2- 40's white male. PLayed with him before a bunch of times. Can bluff but also will overbet nuts. One of those players that if he has it and you show aggression he spazzes out. (SB) 600

OTTH

V1 limps, V2 completes, H Checks with 68

Flop comes 345 (pot 6)

V2 leads for 7, I call and V1 calls.

Turn: 5 Pot (27)

V2 checks, I check, V1 checks.

River : 7 Pot (27)

GIN! I can clearly get some money out of anyone with a 6. I don't think anyone has a 5, but even then I am good.

V2 leads out 15. H makes it 60. V1 calls (theres my 6!)

V2 shoves his entire stack in! Ugh

The way the action played I can only put him on either quad 5s or 7s full.

In fact, I figure he must have 7s full. Now of course he could have a 5, or the lower straight, or even the same hand as me but at this point it's so much money.

Are we OK with a fold here based on reads and the amount of money going in? Does anyone call here? I feel like for the amount of money we are calling off and the size of the pot it's just not worth it without the stone cold nuts or a great read. I don't have the nuts and my read is he's good.

Thoughts?

What is your stack size? I think putting him on only 7's full is pretty MUBSy. 56 looks like a pretty good candidate.

Generally, my rule is this "A river raise on a paired board at 1/2 no limit is always a full house"

I don't think you'd be making a mistake by sticking to that rule. You have very little invested and Villain has a pretty wide range that beats you. Without knowing your stack size we don't know how often you have to be good, but if your stacks are at all close, you probably need a really high %

However, in this case, it's such a juicy spot for the villain if he has just a 6, or 56 I might call it off. I don't know, I'd have to be there.

$6 pots shouldn't turn into $1300 pots on the river with a straight on paired board. /thread
