villian is 13/11. Probably views me as a station when he barreled off on a Jxx board and i had J8 and called 3 streets to his AQ. He also recently set mined for 10 bb sligtly deeper flopped a set, we got it in when i had KK on a Q84sss and sucked out.

i think its unlikely to see him raise here with JJ or QQ. Not much worse calls imo.

Doesn't the "I has a set" rule apply here?

I think I have to pay this one off somewhat. He's not super nitty if he's willing to fire 3 barrels with overcards. Your bet looks somewhat weak, you were 3rd to act of 4 and could be on a steal, and you repeatedly stole the man's money earlier. It's possible he has 99+ (maybe as high as JJ if he's not an aggressive 3 bettor pf. Don't see why he couldn't raise a middle to good pair for value because overcards on turn would suck), 98s, 87s, 54s, etc. Of course 88 or 55 would suck, but 76 you have decent outs against. I think I at least call to see what the other two do and see what happens on the turn.

And no matter what, you do have 1 out. :-)

If he barreled off three streets with overs, I think he is the same type of guy to raise with a pair+sd here

I'm pretty much in agreement with this. I call here and probably call down afterwards. If he thinks you're a station, then your range for playing like this is much wider than if you'd 3bet him now and calling allows him to put you some weird TP hand or small overpair and think he's valuetowning you with something like TT/JJ. I really don't think that a player like this is flatting those hands, given the board and how the hand has played out.

Disclaimer: I am a lowly 100NL player.

Never fold. Coolers arrive, but it is so exploitable to bet half pot with bottom set and fold to a raise from a guy you have history with and who is maybe a little tilting.

Yea, you can't get in a habit of doing this too often vs regs who are thinking at all. If you want to lay down a set to him once in a while, there are probably enough better spots that this isn't a time to do it.

I'm not folding due to the previous history. If there wasn't history before perhaps I could find a fold, I wouldn't expect him raising JJ-99 on this spot, I expect him raising QQ+ preflop and 67s is on his range in adittion to 88,55.

gotcha. No results because i really did fold. sort of feel like 8x-JJ would just flat , but maybe 66 or 77 raise here.

A few people have said they flat middle overpairs. Is it just because it's 4 handed? It seems a little better to me to take charge of the hand (no FDs out there, altho possible straight), bet what should be the best hand, with position. Is the plan just to keep the pot small because you plan to call any villains down to showdown?

this is almost better than ur AJ thread. i mean no offence,u saved 10bb with just bottom set--i mean, i fold sets myself all the time usually when there are 4 to a flush and someone shove tho xd
