Hand: $2/5/10. MP opens $30, Hero c in SB w/ 9s10c (giving action, seeing flops), BB completes. Flop Ad8s7d. Hero x, BB x, MP $50, Hero r $200, BB cold call, MP fold. Turn Jh, gin. Hero b $400, setting up river jam. BB call. River 8h. Have about a PSB left (~$1.7k). Hero?

Comments/Notes: During the river decision, I figured that Villian either has boats, strong Ax, or nutted diamond draws that missed. Maybe A7s/A7o too, as he called in BB. There are 5 combos of boats (3 77, 2 A8 & 78) and like 20-25 of worse hands (AQ, AJ, A7), plus the $10 straddle was on, so think jam here is appropriate and call it a day?

Cheers,
ringring

Are you expecting villain to call with good Ax or counterfeit 2p? He could also have 8dXd which would call.

Need some reads on villain. Is he mainly 3betting a hand like AQo+, AJs pre? What does he do with AJo? Is he very stationy and calling even an Ax with bad kicker? If we check, does he bluff with missed diamonds?

There are cases for every line here based on villain history and reads. Jam, check call, check fold, 33% pot, 50% pot, 60% pot, bet call, bet fold I think the smaller bet helps you get called by Ax. Jam is targeting 8dXd, AJ, and just really stationy players with Ax. Just need more info on villain.

Mandatory fold pre. SB is the worst position and you need to be even tighter with the straddle on.

Villian could call those hands to a jam because I have a very maniac image and just bluffed him for stacks 20 min earlier. He will just call AQ/AJ pre. He likely won't bluff missed diamonds; have him pegged as thinking player and on the tighter side.

OP: please include pot sizes in future. It's much easier to give feedback this way. Thanks for sharing these hands!

Preflop standard.

Flop: V takes H's xr right to the face with MP still to act. This is very strong.

Turn: H continues polar line and V calls getting just over 2-1. We have compressed his range significantly. What 8x calls here? I suppose maybe 87s (two combos). Maybe exactly 9d8d. Against this, V has 77/88, 6d5d, Td9d free-rolling or KdQd that turned more equity. V has some AA too.

River: We offer V 2-1 to call our jam. He can probably fold nothing except KdQd/6d5d that he gets to the river with at this price. But we are targeting very very thin value - basically 9d8d. I think river is a check and I'd rather bluff-catch. I think he gets here with as many combos that beat us as we beat.

Basically all this.
Without any info, I'd lean towards b/f ~33% pot
