Playing 1/3 in Las Vegas. A decent rec opens to 12 from HJ and has you covered. Only been playing with him for about an hour and put him on something like All PP, Axs, K10s, Q10s, J9s, 54s, A9o, KJo, Q10o, J10o, and maybe some suited one gappers. You are on the btn and look down at 8d8s. You 3! To 35. Villain calls. Flop comes out A62 w/ 2 hearts. Villain leads out for $25. You call. Turn 9h. Villian bets $50. Hero rips it all in for $190 to get fold equity from any from Ax by trying to represent Axs/High suited broadways.

Is this a good/bad play?
What ways does holding 8h impact this scenario?
How much/how would calling pre flop change this scenario?
What if villain checked flop?
What if flop was 247 w 2 hearts. Turn 3h…?
What if flop was monotone hearts?

This is a huge punt. When he donks into you (which he should never do on A62hh) he’s both telling you he’s a fish and telling you he probably has an ace or hearts. On the turn you beat nothing, just fold.

Having the 8h is better but still a punt.

Yeah, basically that turn bet is weak made hand aka Ax, who is scared of AK, and wants to “see where hes at” even though this bet actually doesnf accomplish that at all.

Entirely fine play preflop, but it hit his hand and im folding the flop.

TBH, I think your range for the villain raising at 1/3 is way too wide for a "decent rec." In addition, it doesn't matter much since you should be far more interested in what his 3 bet calling range is.

I agree that the donk bet is basically showing his hand to you. At 1/3, you don't make money trying to push people off of TP. Easy fold without a read that he can fold TP. As for your questions:

Bad.
Still bad.
Still a fold, but you wouldn't have wasted as much money.
Check behind, but if he checked the turn, I'd bet.
Call flop.
Fold turn.
Fold flop.
