did i play this wrong?
no matter what i do on turn i dont get paid off on river i think like if he has a set and river is lets say K and i lead out i think he still folds his set.

i got berated at table after telling me to bet small on turn but i dont think it matters if i bet small his draws and only puts more money in if he hits so i decided to try get max value from 5 or a 9 high straight.

V was an idiot to fold the 888 unless his image is so bad he knows he cant win a dime if board pairs.

4 was unfortunate, nothing you did really would change it. Bet 200, bet 250, whatever.

villains image was very very nitty never seen him put a chip in middle without having nuts.

my image was tight but i have shown bluff raises and 3bets with air.

I probably check raise the flop to represent a big draw but leading out is fine.

We can't check raise the turn. If it checks around it could be disastrous.

But I bet 180 into 275 on the turn to make two pair, sets and monster draws think they have fold equity (I don't mind them coming over the top).

this may sound ******ed but

i didnt want to bet small since yes i get extra lets say $150 in middle from him but he will have ALOT of equity in pot so at times i only win 65% of pot.

so i decided to bet alot and hoped he would still call with his sets trying to fill out even though he does not have odds.

remember its live to some people it just looks like alot of chips in middle and it only costs him 2 black chips more to win a big stack of chips and possibly my remaining chips.

i think any amount i bet here looks like a straight its just do we want to give him correct odds to draw to a boat or flush?

we win pot majority of the time but dont we win more money longer term by bettnig more we take down a decent sized pot and some % he calls with horrible odds to try fill up
