Making my 2 pair look like a bluff...? Making my 2 pair look like a bluff...?

Villain is a solid winning reg. Havent noticed anything out of the ordinary about his bluff catching habits. Ive bluffed him before but he hasnt caught me yet, so im not sure how bluffy he percieves me. Probably respects my game though.

1/2

Folds to hero in mp who raises to $10 with K9 ($300)
Folds to villain in BB who calls (covers)

Flop $21
AK4

Villain checks, check

Turn $21
AK49

Villain checks, hero bets $14, villain calls

River $49
AK49T

Villain checks, hero bets $60

I was planning on bombing river here. It wasnt a great river card though but I went with the plan anyways. What do you think? Too big? Maybe nothing calls vs this sizing, but I was going for the "you checked twice, you cant call a big riverbet" line to make it look bluffy vs a thinking opponent.

$60 into $49 is a good number here if you're looking for V to bluff catch. Somewhat higher and your hand might is going to be polarized, which may fold out AQ/AJ.

Although, tbh, it really looks like you completed a draw (QJish), so it's going to be tough to get one pair of aces to call you.

If you think villan is good enough to understand that this bet polarised your range and he can therfore call profitably if he believes your bluffs and made hands are balanced then this is a really sick merge and I love it.
Most 1-2 villans really won't be thinking about calling against polarised ranges though, and we are more likely to get value from a smaller bet against 99% of the player pool I would think.
If we are merging we can go even bigger, maybe 80 would be good

Problem is the river ruined your chance of getting great value. Your line would look full of **** if the board bricked off, but it looks more like you hit a flush.

If you have played with him a bunch and have pulled this before than it's great. If not, I think we just bet $20 an try and get a crying call from a K, because that is what it looks like he has.

Your plan is good, but I would of changed plans with this river card.

If you are raising with hands like K9s from MP, then your table imagine is lag.

Your plan was fine, but once the river card comes, you should bet half pot. Ax is not calling a full psb/slight over-bet on this river card. It looks like you backed into a flush.

River is a x/b. Also, no draws missed

Ya there are not many weak hands I can have after the hearts come in. QJ or JT I guess. Thats sort of a problem. Villain tank called anyway so he might have had Kh x.

This is a cool hand. At 1/2nl players are mostly calling stations, so upping your bet sizing is a great way to increase your margin. At this level I'm not really worried about balancing my range of river overbets, but rather taking advantage of the opponent this hand.
