GG, you're never going to succeed in poker until you realize that it is about making sick bluffs and putting yourself into as many difficult situations as possible. That's what I'm repeatedly told.

My only quibble with the praise is that I think you're much closer to the top 1% of LLSNL, not top 10%. You are the ideal behind the old Sklansky concept that you want to be the player that at the end of the night the other players say, "How did he ever got all those chips."

Number 8-Squid Face

A popular and jovial sort, Squid has been through it all. Catastrophic injuries, divorce, bags and bags of pharmaceuticals, etc etc. He really has done it all and seems to keep a sunny disposition throughout. I'm not sure I could have come back from some of the things Squid has been through.

His stories are legendary: from the US Skeleton team, to the Blackjack card counting crew, to slogging hours and hours of street poker, running lines of strippers asses and now his current incarnation--mass recreating. Squid probably more than anyone in the AIDs infested thread is truly living his best life on his own terms.

My favorite stories he regales us with are the seedy underworld he was exposed to while grinding black jack as part of a crew. i seem to recall being dragged into the back of a casino at gunpoint by a Turkish gangster type (just my recollection...I'm not doing any research mind you).

Perhaps Squid could reprise that story for any of the degens that missed it??

Squid seems not to suffer fools easily and supports the true characters he encounters on his journeys in life. Strippers, gamblers...anyone that truly enjoys hookers and blow. These are the people that he seems to share a kinship with. People that aren't trying to be something they are not and are true to themselves and others.

But what sticks out to me most of all is his joy of being a parent to his daughter. Of all the stories he has posted the ones I remember are the ones about her exploits at design school and now her finding her way in the world. I think it is impressive that he has made sure that she has stayed on course and found her calling. Too many in the gambling world (hell too many in the world as a whole) are **** parents and selfish pricks who don't understand what your job is once you bring a kid into this world. Squid gets it.

Anyway, Squid is somewhat the conscience of the ****** pen. He is a straight shooter, doing his do and for that I tip my cap. As that douchebag Feel Wrath would likely say "Good on ya mate!"

wuz in Uruguay gamboolin in Punta Del Este. Doing some shuffle tracking. They were not smart enuf to figger it out...but they saw we were "controlling the tens and aces". I was with the woman who I started the team with and they backroomed us. It was a state run joint and they had big automatic guns. Was touch and go for a while but she has a silver tongue and they shook our hands and invited us to never come back
