The full schedule will probably be released sometime in January, but for now, the dates of the flagship events are released here!

Kicking us off with the Mystery Millions Bounty! Bounties range from 10k to that one special envelope for 1 milly. Plus a milly guaranteed for whatever chump actually wins the donkament.

Following weekend is the Gladiators of Poker…. $300 buyin, 3 Mega guaranteed!

My PTO is approved, and my Airbnb is BOOKED June 2 - June 19!

I’m definitely playing those two events. If my trip is going well, I might take a shot at the $1500 Monster Stack.

I’d be down to grab a meal or a beverage with (most) of you. If we get enough interest and can agree on a date, maybe we can get a 1/1 spewfest game going!

So who’s coming to town?

I’ll be there. Still chasing that first bracelet.

I’m locked in.

9-10 days from 16th to 25th ish to play around for 3-4 days and then do some mtts - my first Seniors and then Millionaire Maker which IME/IMO is the best of the huge field NLHEs

See I disagree, I think it’s either the first low stakes tournament (reunion, housewarming, etc…. This year it’s called the Gladiators event), or the Colossus.

I think of all donkaments in terms of what the buyin is vs how much first place will be. For a 3M guarantee, which they’ll probably smash, that’s $300 to win maybe 500k to 800k up top, or more.

To me that’s a better value proposition than $1500 for $1M.

No matter what, it’s a huge field and the blinds will accelerate quickly in the middle to late stages, so you’ll have to win flips. But that’s true of any large field donkament.

Also, unrelated… my last night in Vegas two years ago, I was taking the 6 am red eye home, so I did what anyone would do and played all night at the Wynn 2/5.

The final table for the millionaire maker was the following day, and the guy who had the final table chip lead came down to play a little drunk deepstacked 2/5, “to stay sharp for tomorrow.”

He ran a stack up from a max buyin 1.5k to around 3.5k by playing like a lag psycho. He generally played well, and was very funny. I was sitting on about 3k at the time, which represented most of my profit from the trip. He definitely put me in some tough spots with all that money behind, though we never really tangled.

I left to catch my plane at 5 am, and I found out on poker news that that guy did wind up shipping the millionaire maker. Good player, good guy, funny story.

VEGAS BABY!!!!

That's literally the dumbest tournament I've ever seen at the WSOP. Especially ridiculous buy-in amount when you consider inflation.

In. I've booked a hotel for every week from June 1 - July 10, but will only come for 1 full week and maybe an additional long weekend, full week likely to be on the earlier side.

I've just booked. Arrive Fri 16th, fly out Mon 26th...which means 12 days out of the land of the kangaroo. Wife will be delighted.

My plan is cash games, shenanigans etc for the first 4-5 days and then sober up and play Senior's on 21st and then Milly Maker on 23rd

Have got an OK booking at Vdara but will shop around for deals at other places at around that area of the Strip - Hilton Elara, Bellagio....maaaaaybe PH.

I’m likely coming out but don’t know what which event. How quickly do I need to get a place booked? Which property would you all recommend?

Thank you!

It really depends on your budget and preferences around quality and also location

The rooms in almost all the properties are pretty good and then they just get increasingly nice for the more expensive ones. But then theres a lot of variance within the property itself, it’s facilities and restaurants, the clientele etc that can make a big difference, particularly if you’re a Princess like me

The top tier among the main properties is relatively clear

Wynn Encore
Cosmo
Venetian Palazzo
Bellagio
Aria Vdara

Second tier I would describe as

Caesar’s
Mirage
MGM
Maybe Resorts World but have never been
Cromwell although this is a different type of place
Maybe Planet Hollywood

Then there’s a lot of third tier ones that might be very close to the above ones now but I would guess are a touch lower

Paris
Ballys
Linq
Harrahs
And probably a dozen more.

Book immediately because you can always cancel at no charge later (72 hours prior to the stay).

In terms of Caesar properties, Paris and Planet Hollywood are at the same level. Paris rooms had been getting old but have now all been renovated. These are a step up from Horseshoe (formerly known as Bally's), Flamingo, Linq and Harrahs, which are Caesar's budget offerings on the strip. If you do want to go budget, I recommend going with one of these Caesars properties as they are all in good locations.

Horseshoe (and Paris) rooms may be more expensive than they typically should be just because that is where the WSOP is taking place.

Some days a higher tier hotel can be as cheap as the budget offerings. It's all based on bookings and room availability and sometimes it works out that a hotel like Planet Hollywood or Trump may go for quite a discount such that prices are comparable to that of a budget hotel.

Venetian and Palazzo are already booked up for 3 days during my stay. Mind boggling that a property that big could be fully booked (aside I’m sure for High value customers) 6 months out. Guessing there’s a huge conference on there

The Venetian absolutely kills it with convention business. Historically, that property's occupancy rates have been pretty insane.

Taking a trip to Cherokee in a couple weeks for the circuit event. On the one hand, I want to get out there on the felt and practice making decisions when I look in people’s eyes. 4 flights for the $400, 500k gtd!

On the other hand, I’m gonna feel real dumb if I vaporize a couple K over a meaningless weekend that might impact the quality of fun I’d have on the Vegas trip, which IS meaningful to me.

We’ll see.

Maybe I can finally meet some of you. Were already planning to be in Vegas May 31, so will play in the bounty tournament. Have to head back June 1 or 2, though

I hope a few of you come in early.

Planning to be there around June 20 - 28th. Mostly cash, but likely will fire Seniors, or maybe Super Seniors.

Will stay at a Caesars property, being a Rewards member. Harrah's at $67 per (plus resort) was the lowest offer. If willing to stay off - Rio was $35 per.

Yep, Rio is super cheap right now. Honestly can’t imagine why anyone would stay there though tbh now that WSOP has gone. Dark hellhole of a property

I’ll see you for a drink at/around Senior’s. jrr63 is another tot Super Senior who is usually there

I don't think I'm going to play the Seniors this year, but plans may change. Will update if I wander into town.

Yeah, feel. Ran it up pretty good early, then faded. Played ~ 4 hands into day 2.

Almost as if there's a pattern. I can beat the truly bad players, but not the top 40% or so.

it's definitely a specialised skillset playing 25-40bb stacks in tournies and when you're sat with guys who can do it well, it's fairly obvious isn't it?

but obvs the most important things needed to run deep in tournaments are

- make bad plays and suck out a lot,
- win flips
- tank every decision for 90 seconds

Coo!

Btw, Caesar prop rates quite volatile ... e.g. Horseshoe now 2nd lowest after Rio, as of last night. Keep checkin'.

The full schedule just dropped!

Oooh. Sub-$1k NL Deepstack events BOTH Sundays I'm in town? Might play those instead of the Monster Stack.

Plus a smattering of 6-handed and PLO tournaments in my price range... I really don't know if I can justify playing some Devil's Game for a donkament, we'll see how it's going!!
