Officially weighed in yesterday at 261.3.

Day 1: did 25 minutes of steady state cardio, weighed in at 251.9.

Im not going to weigh myself daily, but I may or may not have drank about a gallon of water beforehand, so I wanted a more accurate assessment for later

Great work on the water. You'll be able to drop close to 10lbs of water pre weigh in if you're smart about it/use salt tablets and a sauna.

Good luck!

43yo, 6'0".

I was a my top weight of 265lb in Feb 2016. I lost ~20lb, then stalled, got off track, and crept back to 250 over the next year. At my age, the weight was really beginning to have observable adverse health affects, including higher blood pressure (I was pre-hypertensive), significant drop in libido, and the expected elevated numbers on my blood work panels.

I've been back on track since May, now down to 218 for a total loss to date of 47lb, with a goal of hitting 200lb then re-evaluating with my doctor based on my BF% and blood work. I have cut out all refined sugars, focus on healthy carbs and good fats. I'm not quite in the IIFYM crowd, but I'm a natural carnivore, so my diet does lean towards ketogenic. I track everything I eat with MyFitnessPal.

The positives so thus far have been immediate. Libido is making a strong comeback. My waist has dropped from 40" to 35", neck size went from 18" to 16.5". Clothes fit better, I look better, and I feel better. No afternoon crashes, and my mental clarity at work and the poker table has improved.

Leaderboard was updated yesterday (split between men/women), based on % lost:
Club rank: #1
National rank: #22

Being #1 nationally doesn't guarantee a win though. At the end, a group selects like 5 finalists, then there is some kind of vote. Idk the specifics really

Looking though the previous iterations of this, it's going to be a challenge for me to ultimately win. Most of the men in the weight loss lose like 75+ lbs because they're starts at 300+. I feel like if I'm at like 50lbs lost a week out, I might have to water cut to try to stay close to the competition

Regardless of all this I'm just gonna keep chugging along doing my thing for now.

Nice job, Johnny!!

I've been sitting in the high 190s since vacation. Despite my race in early August, I took it easy last month. Been going hard in the paint the past week to ramp up for next 5 week training phase.

Today's workout:

Rowing intervals:
300m @1:45/500m split ×2
400m @1:50/500m split ×2
500m @1:53/500m split ×2

Running intervals:
250m warm-up
400m sprint ×4
250m sprint ×4
cool down

Tl;dr it sucked.

Congrats Johnny - imo, if you get the opportunity you should be very active on any blog/shared page type thing the club is running and create some emotional ties/human interest story to build your case ... 'want to be around to see my newborn grow up/got inspired by xxxx' stuff that they can latch into and use in PR

Still haven't recovered most of my strength from my surgeries, just really struggling to get my DL back up.

But I'm also cutting weight so not shocked that it's been tough. I should probably start doing cardio as well, we have a rowing machine but I just generally hate cardio.

8/12/17 (Day 1): 261.3 lbs, over 30%, trainer has exact #
8/26/17 (Day 14): 246.6 lbs, 28.8% BF
9/16/14 (Day 35): 241.2 lbs, 26.9% BF

*not sure how accurate the BF% are, but they are all taken in the same scale, so it should all be relative

I also started measuring my hips, waist and neck because, in reality, I don't give a **** what I weight, I just want to not be fat. If I'm 225 lbs and have a 34" waist, great, that's good enough for me. If I need to be 205 lbs for that or 185 lbs, so be it

9/3/17
Hips: 42"
Waist: 45"
Neck: 17.5"

9/16/17
Hips: 41"
Waist: 43.75"
Neck: 17"

So some definite improvement in only 2 weeks. I wish I measured those at the start, they would have definitely been higher.

Did a metabolic test today. Tuesday I have a follow up where I will get a program that should help me target BF loss better, as right now I'm just doing what I want. While that has gotten results, this should help.

All in all, I am feeling better about myself. I'm starting to finally see some weight loss. I still probably need ~20 lbs to really feel a difference in clothes. It will be nice to get back into the 220s, like 90% of my work wardrobe was from when I was thinner. I've been living out of cheap polo shirts for far too long because of my refusal to believe I was going to stay this weight for a long time (that was 4 years ago)

Also to move he process along, I've moved to light pharmaceuticals. Started an ECA stack earlier in the week. Have had success with it in the past and old habits die hard

This was my weight out for the competition. Probably about the worst 2 weeks possibly. I did something to my back and everyone in my family has been sick. I'm on day 6 of having something in my chest that just doesn't want to go away. I think I went to the gym 3x in the last 2 weeks.

So not really the greatest way to finish out the competition but at least I'm starting to lose some weight, which is ultimately what this was about

Down to 212, for a total weight loss of 53lbs. It's slowed down in the past couple of months, but I haven't been a diligent with my diet as I could be. My job has me travelling frequently, which typically means I'm taking clients out, which means more alcohol. It's not a complete reversal, but I do notice if I have a couple of days of 3-4 drinks (I mostly stick to scotch), it does stall out my weight loss.

On the positive side, I'm still moving in the right direction. I've also been doing more resistance exercises, but I have to be careful (I had my right pectoral tendon surgically reattached a little over a year ago...FU aging). That being said, my neck size has dropped another .25", and my waist is down to a 34. I can easily do 50 pushups now, and my general physique has noticeably changed if comments from others are any indication.

Progress, not perfection.

Keep up the good work guys!

Bump: 1/16/18

Due to a bunch of excuses that basically boil down to me deprioritizing my workouts and diet because other life stuff made it difficult, my fitness has suffered.

None of that bull**** is acceptable as I hit a low of 196 after my last race, and then ballooned to 215 in several months of lackluster/intermitten workouts and a ****ty diet.

Today was d1 of a keto diet, and Ive added the usual intermittent fasting on the 16:8 split. Daily calorie and macro breakdown as follows:

Calories: 2021
Fats: 137g - 1233 calories
Protein: 177g - 708 calories
Carbs: 20g - 80 calories

Workout:
DL: wu, 5×3 @75%
OHP: 5×5 @75%
Lat Pulldown: 5×10 @80%
Tricep Pulldown: 5×15 @80%

D2: 1/17/18: 219lbs

Same macros as yesterday, with meals consisting of mainly: eggs w/ bacon, turkey n cheese roll ups w/ mayo, string cheese sticks, dried chorizo, coffee, blackberries, halo top ice cream w/ protein shakes, and walnuts.

Workout:
Squat: wu, 5×5 @75%
OHP wu, 5×5 @75%
Face pulls: 5×15
Barbell curl: 5×10

So far the 20g of carbs hasn't been too tough. Fortunately I can fill ~7g of those carbs from halo top chocolate ice cream mixed into my protein shakes, and another ~7g of carbs from 1 cup of blackberries.

After 30 days im going to bump the carbs to <50g, which means i can add in things like white corn tortillas and do tacos proper. As well as a limited selection of other fruit.

The daily calories being ~2021 is fairly easy to follow, and is less of a deficit than i have previously used. But oh well, we'll see how this goes. I bought pee strips to determine if I'm in ketosis or not, so far i ring in at the bottom of the range.

Respect. Keep posting!!!

Weighed in at 206.0 today. I put on 20 lbs between October and January. I'm way too fat for my height, need to lean out.

I'm getting back on the Keto diet for a couple months and hopefully I'll be able to reverse diet after that while adding in moderate carbs and lowering the fat.

Today I ate 1 egg, 1/2 of a Quest bar, bunless double cheeseburger with bacon (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mayo), ribeye, cup of broccoli with butter, mushrooms, and whole fat Greek yogurt
