Weighed in this morning at 234.2 which is 10+ lbs for the challenge to-date and a 4 year low for me. Pretty pumped.

I'm looking at a picture from over 4 years ago where I weigh the same. But I'm much leaner now than I was in the image.

Feels good. I mean, I have collar bones now...who da fuq knew?

On a side note, want to make sure I'm getting the right calorie count in.

My baseline BMR based on height/weight is 1872.45.

I'm using a 1.55 multiplier on days I'm working out (lifting or running). Subtract a minimum of 500/day and I should be at 2401/day, 1901 if I want to drop 1k cals/day.

Am I overshooting my goals/calorie goals? Undershooting? Is my multiplier too high?

Sounds really ****ing complicated!

Am I the only one itt not using some kind of calorie calculator thing?

I'm just eating less at every meal, eating no complex carbs, everything clean and no booze or bad stuff at all.

Not sure I could cope with all that weighing and measuring

182 to 200 quest

I weigh 186 or 191 depending on which scale you trust. Globogym surprised me, I went to a new upscale site in Mesa and they did not have a scale in the mens locker room. I thought that was standard even in ghetto gyms.

EDIT: FW I am not formally keeping score this time around because I've done it many times and know on the bulking phase I can never actually eat that many cals anyway.

@Turtle, you know what they say about men with collar bones?

I am using myfitnesspal. Still I don't know how many calories per day I should be consuming given my activity level.

I don't trust any bmr calculators anymore. I'm pretty dialed into the calorie count for what I eat daily, so I add and subtract accordingly.

lurking and not participating since I am at my goal weight after 3+ years learning to eat healthy (now vegetarian, so this thread makes me miss burgers ldo) but, fwiw I use MFP and the MapMyFitness sister app to log my exercises and then MFP will net the calories for me depending on how many calories I burn on any given day.

hehe, I only recently decided to try a flexitarian diet after watching forks over knives on netflix. I went from 5'8" 200 - 210 pounds down to current weight of 147 before ever considering vegetarian, just counted cals and did cardio (bike/walk) but I found during that time that eating more whole foods/veggies made eating at a deficit while feeling full much easier.

for realz. I personally know a shytload of werld class athletes and more olympic medalists than I can count. NONE of them use a calorie calculator.

this is a lifestyle thing. rome wasnt built in a day and neither wuz yer body. when I am focused on getting lean I gradually eliminate processed carbs and sugars. If I had to calculate how much x and how much y I could put into my mouth I never would be able to get really lean

it aint rocket surgery

fast food, pasta, doritoes, candy are bad

lean meat, chicken, fish, veggies good

need a snack to crunch on? those little baby carrots instead of popcorn

eat a lot of small meals

dont go grocery shopping hungry

no late night snax
