So I found this video on youtube and it's from my local casino, but is 2 levels above where I play. Only noticeable name is Chris Ferguson who i think won some UKIPT title or something. Others are just standard players from the local vicinity.


First hand.

What do we think of:

A) The check on the flop with Aces
B) The turn play
C) The river bluff?

Obv it's hard to tell stack sizes but it can be worked out from working from river backwards I would have thought.

A dynamic to take into consideration is that the hands are usually not recorded, and this is a specially recorded session from what is usually the final tourny table. This could explain some of the apparent 'fancy play syndrome' stuff.

Also inb4 it's been filmed on a king edward potato.

my thoughts...for starters, A4 is garbage and should have been mucked to the raise pre-flop even with position.

Check w/AA on the flop...no scary draws out there and anyone with a Jack is already ahead of AA. I don't really have a problem with the check - try to induce betting action (which ultimately worked) and evaluate where he is in the hand.

the turn/river bluff...the only way A4 was going to win the hand was to bluff so I guess the turn bluff raise was worth a shot. When the turn raise was called by AA, why go all-in on the river? Unless A4 suspected AA was actually on a flush draw, there is no reason to suspect AA isn't going to call any river bet when the turn bluff raise got called. Bad play to bluff again on the river IMHO - waste of money.

hard to give unbiased feedback when we can see everyone's hole cards, and we cant see stack sizes and we have no reads on the players

seat 7's call might have been because they had a dynamic and a history together that led seat 7 to profitably make that call in that spot, whereas would prob fold to another player
