Fair enough, "ridic" was a bit of hyperbole. I personally would never fold pre, but I'm pretty sure that I play way more hands than most players. It's just a style choice of mine. From a more "standard" poker approach, folding definely has merits and I'm sure is the norm for many players, including many winning players. I'd just never do it.

Flop def could be a fold, but his Cbet is so small and we're IP that I like peeling one here. We have a lot of options available to us on a lot of turn cards. It's sort of a float + we may have the best hand kinda thing. The two other players left to act certainly hurts, and I would never fault anybody for folding. The more aggro the other two guys are, obv the much more we should fold.

I guess part of playing live (and I'm writing strat here to get back into live thinking, so this is mostly for me) is precisely situations like this where I think I can make high EV decisions against weaker opponents on later streets. It costs us 120 to peel into a 340 pot IP agaisnt somebody that's not that good. I'm fine with peeling there and reevaulating the turn.

I would 3 bet to 120 pre. I guess flat could be ok If we knew villain was fit fold and just lays down when misses flop.

Turn is either check back and get to showdown or bet much smaller IMO. Our bet here can easily induce villain to c/c with a flush (not wanting to reveal his hand strength), so I might bet $225 and if called only, I now KNOW he does not have a flush. If I bet 225 on turn I shove river.

All said, I think checking back and showing down from turn on is standard and fine if we are not sure what villain is actually capable of here. When villain checks turn, it is either to flat out give up or to c/c and at live poker if he calls turn bet, he can easily call it off with an overpair if he is the regular loose passive live type I am thinking of.

When we do have very decent SDV on the turn (as here), I don’t think that always taking the route of attempting to bully thru shoving and winning all pots is really a great plan. I like more elements to fall into place before doing so, and I think my river bluff success rate is due to this. I still like it, I just am not in love with it.
