Had a hand earlier this week that has been bothering me a little.

So started this hand with ~300BB and had the table covered. This game was generally characterized by loose preflop limps and calls, and tight passive play post flop, I think my image was pretty tag at this point. slightly higher pfr % than the rest of the table, which probably has been noticed

UTG folds

UTG +1 (200BB) Limps

UTG +2 Limps

UGT +3 (100BB) Limps

UGT +4 Folds

Hero (3 3) (300BB) Raise to $17

HJ Folds

BTN Folds

SB Calls

BB Calls

All UTGs call

Pot ($102) Flop 3 8 A

SB and BB Check

UTG +1 Bets $35

UTG + 2 Folds

UTG +3 Calls $35

I....

do what?? to win as much I possibly can, no major reads on the two UTGs, they are reasonable, average, not great 200NL players.

Been awhile since I posted on 2+2, but mainly I wanted consideration as to how strong my line looks when I raise (to someone with at least half a brain) and what will maximize well against a typical limp smooth call ep from a 200NLer's range.

limp those pocket pairs at a 1/2 game. then raise flop.

Yeah, I was about to say...I play a lot of live 1/2 in no max games. If the table is willing to limp/call, let them limp call when you're getting value from them. That's their mistake and they rarely adjust.

I'd limp those hands since they'll likely stack off with Ax post flop and getting reraised (though unlikely) might price you out of set mining and you're basically burning money. Anyway, raise the flop. 115 or something. You could flat and bet near pot on safe turns...any broadway, jam the turn if no diamond..I'd raise though.

Def agree w limp pre, in this spot., was a little bit
Of a tilt raise, but limp is my standard.

My main consideration post hand was that the
Ep limps/no 3 bet, almost completely takes AK
Primarily out of ranges. I think AQ is
Heavily discounted. And realistically two pair
Hands just never show up.
while any raise from me will
Reak like I have AT LEAST those.

As played I make it $130 hoping a draw or
AJ/AQ will just go off, but. .. fold fold.

Any thought to a smooth call here even though I
Run the risk of losing action on scare cards???...
In retrospect the donk lead is soo weak, and
The reverse implied odds of doubling the middle
Dude on a possible flush draw don't seem so
Bad compared to increasing my chances of
Winning a stack or two

limp/call pre. Raise flop

Would rather raise in later position and with less limpers to isolate. Your too often going to be going to the flop oop with multiple opponents if you raise in this situation, not a good situation for small pocket pairs.

Well you hit gin and someone's lead out and gotten a call, I'd make it at least 125 here.
