Only on my second orbit at this table, so far I've seen the HJ in this hand make a bad fold with 44 where he limped the button after multiple limpers and the BB made it 25, everyone folded to him and he showed/folded with 200bb stacks.

The SB in this hand is a young guy I see at the casino most everyday and assume he is some kind of tight/winning player.

There is 2 early position limpers, shallow loose passive types, The HJ has 1k+ and limps, I have 800 in the CO with J9s and limp, button folds, SB has 1k makes it 40, folds to the HJ who calls, I call.

Flop QT9 no suits, SB bets 75 HJ calls I call, turn is an off 5 and it checks to me i check, river is a 2 SB bets 150 and wins the pot without showdown.

Would like some feedback on my pre flop and turn play, assume the flop and river are a no brainer, thanks.

i think folding pre is the best play here but....

bet the turn-something like 125...its gives you more info on his hand, allows you take control/decide what to do on the river if he calls and your hand does have some value against what hes gonna raise cbet with there.

betting the turn sucks cause when you get c/red you have to fold. Just fold pre for the 8x raise

i agree with folding pre for sure...i dont think you get c/r on this board often. just doesnt make sense. only hand that may do that is kj and your waxed anyway. sets and 2 pair all lead the turn again, top pairs-mid pairs c/c if not c/f

How do you guys feel about raising pre flop? I don't have much information other then the HJ folding the 44 and it being a typical 2-5 live game.

id rather be stronger than this first time i iso raise, esp in this spot, just bc i think u get played back at alot iso'ing on the button. then when you show up strong u tend to get more respect the next few times u try to button steal. i dont mind limping pre with it in ur position but when facing a 3bet out of the blinds i just dont see it being a profitable play to call, esp given that u feel the sb is tight. this indicates he shouldnt be "squeezing" a high % of the time light.

are the shallow stackers that you limp behind too shallow for limping to be profitable?
