900 effective stacks

Old fish UTG opens to 15. MP 3! 40. He is a winning live player but can randomly spazz. Definitely doesnt use standard ranges or attempt to play gto.

BtN (Hero) - 4! 110 with qq

UTG folds.

MP - 5! 250

Hero -??

140 to win 900 if you flop a set. You probably aren't there with implied odds. A rule of thumb I use is if someone ever 5bets me it is AA and KK. I'm ok with just folding this one.

I might decide to put this hand in a flat calling range along with AQs, KQs, JJ/TT.

Maybe that's results oriented but I think it's a reasonable idea on the button. If you are SB/BB then your line is clear.

As played, I just let it go.

Lol if this is at tstone, who is playing gto lmao. Simple fold. People don’t 5bet air in live cash games unless extremely laggy table with leveling wars going on. Just fold pre. What is 5 betting range consist of? Ak+ kk+? I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen a 5 bet in a cash game. Just fold and find better spots.

I was thinking closer to $150, but regardless, do you think this Villain is either spazzy enough or sharp enough to be 5-betting light here due to Hero's poorly sized 4-bet?

A value 4-bet to isolate in position with a deep stack. I don't see any need to make it more than that.

Easy fold obv. Does anyone like just flatting pre? His 3! looks very strong to begin with.

its fine. his 5 bet screams strength to 3-bet so small to 40 when probably 50-60 is standard then to 5-bet kind of small, that is a strong ass line.

i don't mind four betting queens though, can't really be wrong. and i don't mind folding and i don't mind seeing a flop. i guess the problem with seeing a flop is many flops will be too tempting to call it off and i don't think villian is really ever giving up when he does this. so folding pre to the 4 bet is probably best play.

I don't understand everyone with their 4-5x 3-bets in position. There's no reason to make it so large when you're iso-3-betting. $40 is perfectly fine over a $15 open. If you're OOP, then sure, make it $60, but no need to make it so much in position.

+1 to smaller 3! iso sizing.

Plus, UTG is a fish, so we want to encourage dominated hands to call. I actually prefer the smaller sizing.

Also like flatting with QQ here. We are facing a pretty strong configuration, and it's NEVER bad to flat and allow UTG fish to come along.

Right, there's a saying "Don't raise good players with bad players left to act, raise bad players with good players left to act." This would be another reason to flat.
