I've played with villain before in the past but haven't got into too many hands with him. I perceive him to be your typical fish. He is not completely clueless but you can sure as hell take him to valuetown. These players will pay anything to hit their draw. He's in his mid 50's and is of asian ethnicity. The standard raise pre is $10-$15.

Hero (CO): $56 (I was down and too poor to top up)
Villain (BB): $170
SB: $900

Hero dealt QT off. I limp in the CO (I know, bad play but i figured if i can get to a flop against these players it might be worth it). Everyone folds and the two blinds check.

Flop ($3) - KQT rainbow.
SB bets $10, Villain reraises to $25, Hero calls $25, SB folds

Turn ($63) - J
Villain checks, Hero checks

River - 3
Villain checks, Hero ?

I call on the flop because I can't see villain having a straight (raise to $25 in a 3 handed pot with a made hand?) However I am a little scared of the raise because there is a strange theorem etched into my brain that says basically fish never raise with draws - to raise they have to have some type of hand. Is a raise profitable on the flop? Should I even consider folding? Or is calling and re-evaluating the turn the best play?

I check the turn because I think that card puts me behind more hands in villains range (K9/KJ/QJ/any ace now beat me)

I think you need to estime a range that villian would raise pre, if you think he is raising K10 preflop then i think ship it on the flop

Why aren't you shipping the flop?

Shove flop.

And you need to rethink your strategy if you're open limping with QT with a 56bb stack when open raises are between 10-15. I don't see how you can profitably beat this game with this.
