1/2 vegas game, tourists with a few regs. A few bad/splashy players have busted out, but game is otherwise weak-tight.

Hero 30 white male, new to venue, bought in short and won one small pot without showdown. Otherwise has folded for past two orbits.

V1 has been at table for two orbits. 40’s overweight white woman. Waving a drink around and being loud, seems like an act. Has been effectively running over table since she sat down, topped off once, and has run up $600 stack. Getting all in several times and making lots of large bets.

Don;’t remember everyone’s stacks, but are mostly in the 150-250 range.

UTG (V1) ($600) – calls $2
MP1 – calls $2
MP2 (V2) (~$200) – calls $2
Hero (CO) ($115) – calls $2 with K J
Btn – calls $2
SB – completes
BB – checks

Flop:
K, 4, 8 ($14)

Checked to V2 who bets $10

Hero raises to $25

Fold, fold, fold, V1 calls $25, fold, V2 folds

Turn Q ($64)

V1 donks for $50

Hero calls $50

River 7 ($164)

V1 shoves

I’m putting lag player on wide range here. Pot is offering approx 4:1.

in hindsight should have shoved there, as i didnt have much doubt kings were good there, but didn't see much folding to turn jam, since I had only~50$ behind

pot should be 74 on the turn. and 174 on the river. by my maths you have 38 left so 38 into 212 after his shove. it's hard to think of hands you beat but you're more than committed here

For such a small amount it's worth it to look her up just to see how she plays. Unless she's smashed drunk, whenever people take these weird stop n go betting lines it's almost always with a big hand just trying to play it all random to confuse you into calling. I mean your hand is very face up here. Plus you have like 5 red chips left in your stack which I'm certain she can see, so it's not like she can be bluffing.

Next time raise pre in the CO with 2 limpers.

When you raised the flop you committed yourself with your short stack. Get it all in as fast as possible after that. However, I would not have raised this flop. I would have raised preflop so I don't have to play such a multi-way pot where I'm most likely to just get TPGK. As played, on the flop a ton of people are in there, so TPGK is not a go-broke hand. I'm calling and reevaluating, attempting to get a cheap showdown but folding to much pressure.

Oh yeah, and about the V you describe. If she's as active and aggressive as you say, let other people challenge her while you watch, that's the cheap way to get the information you need to play against her, to find out if she's actually drunk&spewey or it really is an act. Without this knowledge, I'm not itching to hero call down huge pots against this person.

If you think you're good on the flop then you should raise the turn

Pre: raise or fold with a short stack. Limping was a leak.

Flop: raise and much bigger.

Turn: should be shipping it in here.

So a mistake made on every street. Sorry to say it.

Lousy labels...

LAG to you means aggressive without top 5% hands, but in reality, most players in these stakes are simply as ABC as a nit married to top 5% hands.

They're only aggressive when they recognize equity (regardless whether they understand the concept or odds), and the proper strategy is simply ignoring the fact that "YOU" wouldn't play the same range pre-flop.

+1 all the way...

No point of leaving yourself 40-50 on turn...if you felt you were good on flop then should be shipping turn.
