Looks like a set that's scared of giving you a free turn card that would kill his action. I would call and fold to a river bet. Would be nice to have some reads here.

flat the turn

also maybe he has 9-10 and is donking to see a free river

however ya he easuly could have a set of jacks, eights or dueces

flat and hopes he slows down i guess

i'm confused by donks like this but i've observed this to be one pair or a draw trying to block (which i kind of like if that's what he's doing). i guess call the turn.

why can't this be QQ figuring you have AK and won't bet the blank turn?

Call and see a river. It's a small bet, he can have Jx, 910, Q10, QQ, a whole mess of crap. If he pushes hard OTR, it's likely a fold.

I put him on j10

Call or push

Villains donk bet is barely one-third pot so it hardly screams strength, and wouldn't sets go for a check-raise OTT?

Gotta call here and prepared to call a small-ish bet on the river; dont think stacks are deep enough to raise/fold. I'd try to turn my hand into a bluff if another spade hit on the river.

I don't really like calling; that's exactly what a blocking bet like this is asking you to do. It may be level to donk a 1/3 pot bet, but a big hand should bet a lot bigger on this kind of board. The board is so wet that his range here is really wide. I think you're good here pretty often.

I raise here....you beat the majority of his range and there are so many bad river cards that can come for you..

This is a really tough spot. Soul read and make a decision to either raise or call. I'm can't see folding as a viable option based on the current pot size/ action. The more I think about it I'm leaning towards calling as I think villain could do this with worse than KK like QQ, or maybe JT (less likely based on pf action) as well as JJ AA. Calling does give us some pot control and we def want to get this to showdown without getting our entire stack in . Sucks to lose a big stack with just an overpair but sometimes you just get trapped into a showdown with a hand like this. I like to try to keep the pot controlled if I can against an unknown villian. OBV against some villains this is an easy raise but an unknown makes it tougher. What's the guy look like ?

I doubt he's donking folding with stack sizes. I get it in we beat most of his range and there are many scare cards otr that we will not want to see

Ugh, this is a really ugly spot if you don't know what kinda hands vil will call the pf 3bet with. JT is unlikely imo, but really we have no idea how he'd play that hand. AJ is also in his range prob and he may be donking to 'see where he's at.' QQ might play this way too.

His sizing screams blocking bet to me so I'm inclined to raise, but with these stack sizes you can't fold if he shoves. I would probably call and fold to a river bomb. Check back if he checks river

yeh ,since he hasnt played any hands, his hand to me looked like qq or AJ since these hands will prob play this way, i was almost sure though this is never q10 assuming he prob doesnt call 3bets pre with such a marginal hand.

what ended up happening was i shoved all in.. villian calls.

v shows

Yech, I hate these spots. Hard to know what the villain is doing with that turn bet. I can go with call or fold. Hate a raise as it turns our hand fairly face up as an overpair and likely let's our villain fold the portion of his range here that we beat. I can't see much he could continue with here that we beat if we raise - QQ and TT I guess might stick around but nothing else and those might be a stretch.

I probably call and try to get to showdown cheaply.

His bet-sizing is pretty small, but could be looking to induce a raise. It could also mean he's trying to see the river at a small price. I would call and re-evaluate. Yes, there are some bad river cards for you, but most LL villains aren't going to bluff you on the river.
