You have to get a CPA. You also need to know as much as you possibly can about "poker & taxes" before you see the CPA. There used to be tons of helpful info in the legislation forum, so search for it there. pm me if you want with questions.

And btw, if any of you are making a significant amount of $$$ at pokah and not paying taxes, it's only a matter of time before you get caught.

This is wrong..it's possible for variance to affect you regardless of sample size, although obviously the chance of it happening goes down the larger the sample has. Lots of people on this forum are ignorant and think just because they play a huge amount of hands that they will be at neutral EV, and although this is true for most, it's definitely not true for all. I mean, look at SobraoluckBoX, KTheKing, and simmsux...all have run hotter than god for at least 400k+ hands.
while it's plausible to run well for your entire lifetime, these guys are probably still winners just not to the current extent.

and one more time, i am not in a 250k hand downswing. i would have committed suicide by now. it's 15k hands but the most amount of buyins everrrrr

This is what makes pattay a better poster than the rest of us imo.

I'd say he's the coolest person here except he's Asian and I only like white people.

actually you dont need a CPA. You can print the forms you nedd and fill them out yourself if you want. I suspect sgt. is like me and prefers not to waste time messing around with this stuff. its easier to pay someone.

So last time I drove through Chicago, I blew through 7 toll stations. Today, I get a bill in the mail for $147: $7 for the tolls, and $20 per station that I missed. Does anyone know if I have any type of defense here? Can I say, for example, "My friend, (name a Chicago resident with an iPass), was in the car with me, so we took his iPass, and I guess it ran out of batteries" or something like that?

I employ a small army of people to cut my lawn, clean my house, snowplow my driveway, cater my parties, do my taxes & investing, train my kids, and do odd jobs around the house. I don't do **** except pokah, golf, family stuff, and party.

In regard to the CPA thing, a good CPA will save you whatever his fees are.

Wait people actually hire people to cut their lawn, clean their house, snowplow their driveway, cater their parties, and do their taxes/investing? I thought everyone did that stuff by themselves.
