JT in a limped pot against mostly unknowns JT in a limped pot against mostly unknowns

I just moved to the table 6-7 hands ago. I straddled on my button after buying the blinds. I came in with ~$400 because I moved from a different game.

Everyone is unknown to me. It's Saturday night, no one is drinking. People seem happy, and jovial. 4 hands were limped with 3-4 limpers, 1 hand was raised to 10, got a call and a cBet fold.
1 hand of note with V1 & V2.

V1 raised to $12 with XX. 2 x Random calls, V2 calls from the BB. Flop A8Jccx. V2 checks, V1 bets $30, 2x randoms fold, V2 calls. Turn 5c, V2 checks V1 bets $45, V2 ck/raises with a claw that happens to be $115, V1 tank calls. V2 bets his remaining $100 blind and V1 calls on a blank river.
V2 shows JJ for flopped set, and V1 folds. He doesn't show anyone but after he leaves the person next to him says he says 89 in his hand!
The table procedes to talk about how bad he is. Make a few comments about his bet sizing. Seems they know 'some' poker, but feels like a 'we like to talk about poker, but we don't really know how to apply it type conversation'

Hand:
Pre flop:
UTG limps
V1 limps
1 limp
V2 limps
SB folds
Hero in the SB and has JTo and checks his option

Flop: ($10) QT9
Hero checks
V1 checks after a bit of thought
All else check

Turn: ($10) 5
Hero checks
V1 bets $7
CO calls
V2 folds
Hero calls

River: ($28) 6
Hero bets $10
V1 folds
CO calls

Pre flop seem standard. I'm not sure about the flop and turn checks. I'm 100% sure I'm ahead of V1's betting range here given the previous hand but I don't know about the random in CO since he hasn't played a hand since I've sat down. Also, how's the sizing on the river? I'm looking for calls from weaker T's and maybe some 9's.

weaker tens with the exception of 108suited are basically garbage that all but the most loose players are likely to toss. If you look at even a really loose player's range (first order approximation given the table and family limped pot), every T that beats you is in it, but a fair number of Ts that don't probably aren't. Sure T8 is probable and T6-7 are possible, but T2-5 are gonna get dumped by a big percentage of players even at a very loose table.

Generally fourth kicker isn't really good. Top is quite a bit better than second which is quite a bit better than third, which is already getting pretty dicey. Anything less than third doesn't really qualify as a good kicker except with a paired Ace (because loose players are playing just about every Ace).

That said, CO hasn't shown any aggressive. Is he trapping? he should raise the river. So he's probably calling with something semi-ok. Could be a weaker T, or a 9, could be a better T or a Q with a garbage kicker. If it's a pure draw that busted, even the stations probably don't call unless they think you are running a bluff and they can catch you with A-high. But this is a terrible board to catch a bluff with A-high since so many fish-playable hands hit it for at least a pair.

I think you're counting on pretty bad play from an unknown to make this a +EV value bet. And it doesn't work as a bluff either. I'd hold off on the river here.

Also if you are betting, the $10 size is too small, and would need to have a reason. I think you're doing it to let in more of those bad 10s and 9s, but they will call $15-20 just as easily and that's the right size bet here if you are going to bet. Betting only $10 is a signal to good players that you are either trying to buy the pot or get a call.

I think if you're going to bet here, it's better to do it on the flop where you still have a fair bit of equity against hands that are ahead of you. Everybody calls isn't actually bad for you there as you are getting such good odds to hit an 8, K or T which will probably be good, or at least chop. J turns out to be one of your worst cards here as it is almost guaranteed to make one of these guys a K-high straight.

Also check your pot sizes. After action described flop pot should be $12, and river pot should be $33.

So I'd say preflop fine. Probably bet 7-10 on the flop and see what happens. As played I'm ok with the turn call, but would check the river.

in these limped pots oop, i'm pretty much done with the hand unless i smack the flop.

since the flop checked through i can see a call ott, but i wouldn't lead on the river. probably c/f, possibly c/c depending on the sizing.
