One of the advantages of not squeezing here is that it allows you to leverage more of your stack post flop b/c the SPR will be higher. This can allow you get a creative with bluffs and force him off 1 pair hands if need be.
I don't think he can leverage his stack postflop. First, because it's multiway. Second, because he has 100bb facing an 8bb PFR that's going to 4 or 5 way, so right of the bat, the pot on the flop will be either 32 or 40bb and the SPR will be 2.5 to 3bb.
This is also the problem with 3betting. Hero will 3bet a fourth to a third of his stack. I still prefer it, because I 'd rather take the dead money off and play a pot HU even with shallow stacks.
It goes without saying, you 3bet only if villain isn't a nit who only raises premiums.
