Hero ???

Villain has been sitting for 20 hands, and appears to be drunk. It is 1 AM in Las Vegas. He has asked "what is a straddle?" several times although it is obvious to me he knows what a straddle is and is joking/acting.

He has played almost every hand preflop, but has only raised in position. For instance, he has straddled from the button then made it 12x BB vs. limpers.

10 Hands ago, villain called a 3 bet with what he claimed to be a medium pocket pair preflop, flop 898, he called a 3/4 pot sized bet, turn Q, he folded to a shove (vs. another player).

2 Hands ago he bet 20x BB over 5 limpers and they all folded.
I didn't know how to figure out if this was a im-starting-to-shove-everything now shove or if this was a im-drunk-and-just-looked-at-aces shove. What do you guys do in these spots?

what are the stakes?

I think your raise is too small PF. If it's 2/5, I'm okay with a 4x open.

At 1/2, you need to make it 7.5x imo.

As played, I'd probably call this shove.

Muck it and wait for another opportunity. It reads like you have some uncertainty as to how drunk/fishy the vill really is. Wait until you either have a better read on this vill, and/or he's even more loaded later on when you can stack him with less risk/uncertainty.

Stakes matter itt

Is v drunk?

Without a solid read I fold

If 1/2 I may consider gambling under certain reads. But it's -ev

Trivial fold. You have to be very very sure he's drunk and spewing and not just pretending to call here. Most players won't ship 200bb without what they perceive to be a strong hand here.

Pretty easy fold. Bumping it to 10x-20x is not the same as open 3 betting into the entire field for 200bb and this is the first time he's done it at this table. Need way more info before ur calling off for 150bb with JJ.

Two things stand out to me here.

First, you haven't stated that you've SEEN any of his hands. He's playing every hand, but apparently isn't reaching showdown nor is he exposing hands when he wins pots. You'd likely have included it in the OP if he showed 97o or Ks2s multiple times. I imagine he didn't, so he may actually be on a heater here, having had a number of premium hands over this short sample.

Second, he hasn't shoved yet. He's either limping or making a slightly bigger than average raise over limpers (for sake of argument - let's say this is $1/$2 ..... if multiple people limped, his making it $24 in the one button example really isn't that huge a raise). This would give me pause, as a loose player would generally send in this deep a stack with a hand they want to "protect", i.e, big pairs or AK. JJ is in bad shape against this range, and you're getting no odds. I'm leaning towards folding.

really need to know stakes here. Since there is certainly some question as to his level of drunkenness/trying to level people, I'd fold for 200 BB until I know he's a total idiot. If he's really as drunk and dumb as he appears, you'll be able to make this decision on more solid ground in a few minutes as long as you're not completely card dead.

Comically easy fold. If he's shoved a couple times, yes, call, but this sounds like a guy who knows he is drunk and knows he's going to make mistakes, but is just waiting to take advantage of it with a ridiculous shove somewhere.
