I would like to know what actions others would take in this hand.

I have JJ on the button. New player just sat down. The game is playing pretty loose pre and tighter post.

No read on new player. He just sat down. Never played with him.

EP raises to $30. New player calls. Another player calls. I raise $85. What action would you take here?

The EP raiser flats. The new player shoves. It gets to me and the pot is $542 and $165 for me to call. I call. What action would you take here?

The EP folds.

Nobody is folding to that 3b, make it bigger. Around 150. And call knowing you're dominated or flipping most of the time.

Also, no harm in folding, although if you're folding you shouldn't 3b here.

Inform the dealer that your wager shall be equivalent to the amount of chips you currently have in play, then place them across the betting line in a single forward motion

$85 + $165 = $250.

Ps. Effective stack is the "lowest" stack size of all hands in play, and in this case, it would be $265, not $300.

thats about the worse raise you could make. you raised enough so they would all call and you having a very vulnerable hand or someone would reraise and run you off. much better to either raise a ton or call looking for a good flop or situation to develop.
