5/5 live

JJ in CO loose middle-aged Persian villain open raises 25, I iso/value RR for 60 he calls. Villain effective = 400, Hero = 500. Flop 632dd, Villain checks I bet 70 he calls. Turn 2c, Villain checks, I bet 105, villain thinks and ships (~230 more).

Should we fold here? Any hands he could have here other than a 2 or better?

Bigger pre ($75). Not folding this once we push V to commit over 50% of his stack - this should be the expected result.

Not sure what his age/race has to do with the hand. How about some actual gameplay reads?

Does he call a 3! pre with something like A2s?

Does villain EVER have a bluff/semi-bluff here though???

Re: gameplay - he's a loose donk - uncharacteristically quiet/turned chair away when he shipped..

Age/race is for more on profiling - people get segmented for a variety of reasons - just providing as much info as possible.

Your iso raise isn’t nearly big enough, it should be at least 80, I’d probably go 100. As played, this is a super safe board for us and I’m happily stacking off. You never gave his position, but if you’re that scared that V has 54s or A2 here... you really shouldn’t be playing 5/5... and are just lighting money on fire.

And yes, V has a semibluff here sometimes. Moreover, it’s very likely that you’re ahead of V’s value range here. You’re worried about two pair but don’t seem to realize you have a much better 2p yourself... and you’re only 80 BB deep effective.

Villain is in HJ (Hero in CO).

I totally agree we're in major value town - this is why I took the line/sizing - to get all the chips in over three streets. It was an awesome board - until villain CRs for only 200 more...

So what on earth does villain CR here for only 200 more that's not made? What other hands are in his range? With a 6 or 3 he's likely just call/folding given his type. So what's left?? Does he play 77-TT this way (and is QQ+ not in his range)?

V can easily have over pairs under you J’s here. Probably a good portion of his range. Could also have broadway flush overs. No way to fold this. Shouldn’t have a ton of 2 in his range.

The question to ask is what is this donk's raising range? That's probably one of the easiest things to generally assign to people as you can infer something close just by watching pre-flop. Is 22-66 in his open range? Is A2?

+1 to twitcherroo. Even if V is CR made hands, he could do so with a 6x, 77, 88, 99, TT, in addition to pretty much any diamond combo. Of the hands we're behind, obviously he could do this with QQ, 22, 33, 66, A2, 45dd... not sure if he flats KK and AA but it's possible I guess. There's also the possibility that V is getting out of line because he knows that your 3b range whiffed on this board texture. All things considered, it's a pretty simple stackoff.

It really depends whether this guy is a true donk, or you're just saying that because LOL live limit obviously donk.

You are at the top of your range here with a 3B, followed by bet bet. Any thinking villain here is going to put you on JJ+. What's your image to the villain? Does he expect you to stack off your JJ+, or does he think he can get you to fold? that's probably more important than his range at this point.

I think we're behind here much more often than most of this thread is dictating, but there are too many combos as stated and I can't see myself folding this hand IRL.

He’s an any suited two true donk who was not staying for much longer either. I think he doesn’t 100% like me per a conversation or two (though think he respects my game) - might be “gunning for me” - but:

a) the first part of the above is most important - ATC, not staying for much longer
b) even if this all wasn’t the case, I still don’t see what he raises only 200 more with. I really don’t see what we beat here..
