And the sick thing is that it's always the guy who just two hands earlier called an 8x open w/ Q4s because of his reverse implied odds to stack a polarized range of AA and flushes for expected value. I swear to God, half the reason I avoid playing live is because I'm afraid of being provoked into assault and battery.

and it's easy as **** to adapt to those games, just nit it up and get paid off on your big hands, they are too ****ing dumb to realize you've folded for 3 straight hours anyway
QFT.

Little ancedote from a live 5/10 hand I played a few months. I'd been card dead and had been folding a lot of hands over the course of the session. One of the guys at my table commented that I was the tighest player he had ever seen. Two hands later I open JJ UTG+1 and he calls from the BTN. Flop is J66, I bet out and he flats. Turn is a deuce. I bet out and he raises... I tank for a bit and shove. He tanks for about a minute and announces that he has too big of a hand to fold and calls with TT.

true story, he insisted i had no reason to bet the flop if i had quads after calling 2 pot sized bets and tank folding on the river

It really is a remarkable thing that in this game, the absolute 'best' live pros in the world - guys who play $50/100+, even famous and prolly get easy punana cause they're on tv shows sometimes like PAD and HSP, probably couldn't beat the rake at $1k on Stars. Laak comes to mind, but there has to be an entire population of guys like that.

He could have gotten probably another $200 out of me.

lol, what a fish. I would've bet $599 on the river. You can't even spite fold because the table will give you so much **** for cheating them out of $140.

Hellmuth hand stars ~6:00, his play + his commentary after the hand pretty much sums up teh live player.

well, his play is not that good. however the funny part is that afterwords he claims ivey played the hand badly. and that if ivey keeps making horrible bet sizes he will take advantage of it.
