Clayton and DGAF's above posts are really really good. There is nothing worse than strat talk at a poker table unless its between people who are ******ed, in which case its mildly amusing. Creating a fun and lively atmosphere at the table is about the most +ev thing you can do.....I wish I was better at being the catalyst of this.

I'm a total sicko. I love talking strat with dumb people. Talking about how I hate jacks never gets old. It usually ends up with me asking for a new setup. Icing on the cake

No being greedy at work improves my life game actually. The point is when you play live you will make (friends) over time which is where I meet alot of my friends today, but when I'm at the table I'm no ones friend because they don't help me pay my bills.

Who would want to be real friends with someone who is greedy and always trying to get the best of you? You would never be able to let your guard down for one minute. I respect people like that at the table, but would never ever want to hang out with someone like that.

No, I do get it. I used to be that guy. There would be 7-8 of us pretty much softplaying eachother trying to break off the rich fish. I did that pretty much for 3 years, and I look back now and see how much money I lost. I was more concerned with playing with the same group of guys everyday 9-5 instead of winning money. I knew if I went at night I could make alot more, but to me the friendships and comrodarie at the table was worth more. I've now seen the light and I wouldnt check it down with my own grandmother now. If someone says if u call we can check it down I say no because I wont offer you the same. I'm honest about it. It doesnt mean I'm not polite to everyone just because I want their chips. The edges are samller now live just like online, and imo theres no friends in this game.

you guys aren't talking about the same thing. he is playing as hard as you to get the money from everyone, he's just saying being amiable in your interactions with other players (pros, rec players, whatever) is better for the game in general.

you can be working hard to get money from people and still be an enjoyable person to sit next to.
