Not really in this case, no. The world of poker decisions (even pf) is grey, not black and white like you seem to claim. Every hand in the deck is potentially an open in a given situation and you won't be able to convince me otherwise.

I never claimed that there weren't grey areas in pf openings. Rather, that there are very few grey areas, and most of it is just standard, good poker, regardless of who is at the table.

Theres nothing wrong with opening light IP or after limpers, but I prefer if they are suited. The problem is you flopped gin, (which is why you raised PF in the first place) and now you don't know what to do because you don't have the NUTS. If you don't want to play a big pot with 76o when you flop trips then don't raise PF with it. The same goes for 76s, because when the flush completes on the turn or river and the V crai or bets huge we are now afraid of being over-flushed.

A lot of tough spots come from playing marginal hands in or out of position against sticky/spazy players.

Except this isn't a tough spot at all. It's one of the easiest calls in the world.
