I have a 6 hour session going on and its slow and a boring day. I am playing 1/2 and in for $350 and have about $300 in front of me. There is a drunk guy at the table but he knows what he is doing and is a decent player so I discount the drunk part.

I am in the 8 seat (10 handed) and I get a limper in the 5 seat (seems good and wants to take advantage of the drunk guy, he thinks hes not good) and the drunk guy in seat 7 limps. I have QQ and make it $20. A little big as $15 is my standard here but whatever. Folds back to limper 1 and he makes it $50 to go and I start thinking its a cooler AA or KK. But seat 7 shoves for $180.

Hero does what here? What am I up against?

But yeah I do think you're up against it here.

Ur not thinking of playing here right?

Note: This is a good time to throw out the fact that live poker is so fantastic in general because before online poker, few players really understood the true relative strengths of hands. A ton of that is due to the fact that after being carddead for 5 hours and see QQ, it looks like AAAAAAAA to most players. Folding is just out of the question now buddy. Forget that crap.

That is why diehard patience in live poker is a must. The patience to realize that this QQ is in a setup sure as hell with all alarm bells going off at full volume. Only the very top players dont fall into this trap due to the slow boring nature of live poker.

Ha, compare that to even novice players who play RUSH poker online, as they so effortlessly click fold and go on to the next hand since they get a new hand literally every microsecond. Very novice players adapt to this fairly quickly online. Many seasoned grinding veteran 2-5 and 5-10 players cant do this. I guess it would be fantastic if everyone played both and could see the poker world from different views. Playing either game solely creates tunnel vision and wow sometimes its hard to think of folding such hands after sitting all day without a sniff of a hand. It blows alright.

Fairly sure that he isn't asking for advice on how best to muck his cards.

I did fold... It was an obvious laugh fold. But what surprised me was the way this happened.

Seat 5 had $150 and seat 7 $180 so they were covered. I changed seats for this spot. Got it and lol fold!

I thought seat 5 had AA here because why would he try to play back at me? I am super tight at this table but maybe my image is that I am an aggro donk??? So his raise puts up red flags but its only $30 more so I would call him I guess. But when 7 shoves I think WTF? Now he is showing super strength but he cant have a hand. I really thought that He might be doing something crazy bc he has shown a lot of weird plays that have worked. Now after a bit more thinking I think he can show up with a hand here bc he knows I have a hand. But if he has AA why play it like this? He can make so much more.

So now I know its a snap fold but I am baffled by this action. I really thought seat 5 had AA or KK and then 7 had the other hand. But after I fold seat 5 tanks. Now I am kind of upset like I had the best hand. But he calls w AKo and 7 shows AA. The flop was 7 hi and I could have lost my stack if 7 flat calls here maybe.

I still think I can fold the flop if 7 flats and I flat. I dont know what 5 does on the flop but if he checks and 7 shoves then I cant call bc of 5 behind me. But if 5 shoves and 7 calls I am obv folding.

Easy fold but lots of interesting spots that can happen here.

I'd raise $8 or $10 over a limper, $20 is too big imo.

Limp raise in a 1/2 is super strong, and unless you've seen either of these guys make plays or stick it in with AK i think its safe fold. better spots.

I think raise sizing is player image and table dependent. Hell, sometimes I can open to $35 and they come along! $20 was right for this day I think.
