1/2. The four Vs are loose-passives, rarely raising and calling wide.
V1 (UTG2, 240)
V2 (MP, 188)
V3 (HJ, 220)
V4 (BB, 310)
Hero (BTN, covers)

OTTH

V1, V2, and V3 limp. Hero on the button with 9c9s raises to 20. All four Vs call.

Flop (92 after rake): 4s6d7h

Checks to hero. Hero bets 20. All four Vs all call. Hero regrets betting so little.

Turn (192): 3c

V4 and V1 checks. V2 bets 58. V3 calls. Hero?

Either bet more OTF or just check behind. Sure, you flopped an overpair, but there may well be larger overpairs in their limp/call range, and definitely all the sets and many 2p are possible. I doubt I could bring myself to check behind when there are so many random 5s in their l/c ranges, but most of them are likely 56 or 45, so they have a pair to go with their SD. Betting enough to deny them odds would be hard and would really value cut us against the times we are beat.

AP, easy fold. L/Ps don't bet with crap, they call with crap. V2 has at least 2p here the vast majority of the time, and likely a straight. V3 probably beats us too.

Only way I see you losing sleep here is that you did fold and they both somehow showed worse, but if they are that god-awful, you'll get their money eventually anyway. Don't lose sleep over it.

This looks fine. Yes you could go a bit bigger on the flop, anything 20-40 perhaps.

Turn just shrug your shoulders and fold, it's a terrible card for you on one level, but a great on in the sense that it makes decision making easy. Fold. The person calling can have a hand like TT or 76 so you and there are two players left to act; you probably have the third best hand if you're lucky and most likely drawing dead.

hand is played fine now fold. betting large into this many people is suicidal. you will regret it when you bomb flop and pot commit yourself vs nutted hands.

I bet 40 OTF and fold now. Someone has a 5. Maybe more than one person.

Edit. Rereading and reading others posts. I might check behind (I wouldnt actually but its probably best) this MW at this SPR.

I wouldn't say your PFR is too small, but depending on game conditions you could go a little larger, especially with a more vulnerable hand like 99. There's a lot of value taking it down pre, just because of rake if nothing else.

bet more OTF. Fold now.

V might be bluffing, but I think they also have othervalue hands such as sets, in addition to straights, that want a little value/protection now.

You can get sticky when the board gives you a bit more opportunity. For example, if you turned a gutshot, or if many rivers would give you a bluffing opportunity. That way, you are not allowing V to bluff with impunity, but when you do call you will sometimes be bailed out when he has it.

Results:

Hero folded. V4 and V1 folded. River was 2s. V2 and V3 check. V2 shows 68s, V3 showed 78o for top pair and scoops. Hero thinks wtf, goes on tilt, and leaves the table.

I was ready to fold, then wrongly calculated the pot odds were 6:1 (actually 5.3:1). I then tanked. It took a while to look at the stacks of all the Vs. I thought: I am not throwing in another 100-200 if Vs left to act called, and any V bet the river. Not enough good cards on the river for me.

Thanks for helping sleep well last night.

After the hand, I thought the pot odds on the turn and the passive play by players who rarely raise and instead thro money at me—all justified a call on the turn.

It was also 9:30 pm, well past my bedtime. I once read that after winning or losing a big hand is the best time to take a break.

First off, if you're seriously losing sleep over a hand, whether it's folding a winner in a small pot, or getting drawn out on to a one outer for 500 bb's, you shouldn't even be playing.

Second, you realized your mistake in the hand was betting so little on the flop - you should have already expected everyone's gonna call on that flop. Being otb, bet bigger otf, then you have options to check back streets later but in poker, we do fold winners some times and there's no way around it, it's part of the game. No one can play perfect poker.

I don't even see anything so terrible about the fold (it was a 5 way hand with one card to a straight, not a big deal).

Flop is fine. I don't see myself betting more than quarter pot here just for equity denial. But our hand is not great facing aggression, to which I might just overold. Turn fold seems fine. There is a one liner out there, someone called him, and if you call, donk better will have less than 40% pot left and calller will have 33% pot left.

Multi-way. You bet on the flop but with everyone calling, you should pretty much check out at that point. At minimum, someone has 2 pair. Likely someone has a set and someone has a straight. You call and that doesn't even get you to the river. Someone behind you could shove.

You don't beat anything. Maybe someone just has top pair. Maybe someone has an over pair. Everything else has you beat and you can't improve. Just run. "you guys are too good for me" and fold.
