Perhaps this is more psychology than hand history..
Villain is the clear table captain. No one has stood up to him in the few orbits I’ve been at table and he has a mountain of red chips. Hero is unknown to villain (except that hero has folded 20ish hands in a row). This is relevant as he probably assumes I’m a fit or fold nit.
7 handed, 3-5 spread (600 max), 1600 eff. Hero in bb with AsKd
Pre: Villain open limps co, btn calls, sb calls. Hero raises to 35, co and btn call
Flop (110) : KJTr
Hero 50, V raise to 100, fold, hero wants to smash it to 400. He is so capped, I also block all the good hands and he has none of them. On the other hand I think I can push him off 2 pair or maybe even Q9 since a nit would only 3b the flop with the nuts..
TBH, the villain will get more pleasure from your shove than you will. AG love it when they cause a reaction. If he has nothing, he'll thank you for telling him what you have. If he can beat TPTK, he'll snap call you. A table captain isn't going to let you push him off 2 pair.
Yeah crystal clear call on flop. We can still have the best hand. Our fold equity vs better is also minimal IMO. So I’m not keen to bluff straight away
