1/3 Aria

Play this silly hand along with me! Ignore for the moment that we've seen an opponent's hand but have elected to continue in the hand anyway...

Hero is unknown to the table except V2, and I've been playing fairly loose and wild this session. I had grown my stack to $450 before getting felted in a set over set. So I've got $345.

Villain 1 is young guy, tight and pretty straight-forward. I'm 2 to his left and have been picking on him all night. He makes mistakes with bet-sizing, turning decent hands into bluffs, etc. $850

Villain 2 just sat down an orbit ago and has already busted a short stack. I have some history with him. 30ish, Hispanic guy with lots of tats, bling, etc. Loud. Likes to gamble it up and will call down light. He's announced that he's just here until his PLO seat opens up. He sits directly to my left. $430

V1: MP
HERO: CO
V2: BTN

Folded to V1 who leads for $12.

I look down at JT and make a loose call, knowing I can take the pot away from V1 if he slows down some.

V2 looks at his cards, but doesn't hide what he has, and I see KQ.

He pops it to $45.

V1 folds.

...Hero?

Well you've already put money into the pot by the time that vil failed to protect his hand (its not like you were peering over his shoulder) so I dont see a problem in calling down and seeing a flop. In a weird sense of morality I would probably just force him to fold if I had any piece of the board and he missed.

Obv I want to just say fold, but it is a game and he made a mistake. For whatever its worth I think playing the hand through all 3 streets would be a meanie move

If you do anything but felt him on any sort of cooler and/or super-thin calldown vs any sort of semi-bluffs or other missed draws etc then you should probably hang up your poker cleats

call - he made the mistake and as long as you did not deliberately try to see his cards you did nothing wrong.

He might spaz out jam if we min raise too, so jamming might be better

Yeah, him hitting the turn is bad but I'm also very worried about the spaz 3bet jam "bluff".

There is basically $180-ish dollars lying on the ground.

Jam and pick it up.

Don't try to get cute here with min raising. If we jam, no way in hell he calls with K high for value thinking he's ahead. And odds are he is not going to double barrel meaning that if we flat we aren't getting more money out of him unless he binks. So unless I know for sure he double barrels, I just jam and take this down now.

Given the stack sizes, is calling with suited connectors in position loose?

Exactly what I thought! results:

Spoiler:
I jam.

Villain thinks for about ten seconds before calling. I don't bink.
He says, "No one better raise me on a draw again! I'm giving notice!"

I sulkily rebuy.

Sometimes I really hate this game.

FPP Pro says profitable if villain folds 41% of the time. We have to assume that any 'normal' person would fold 100% of the time, but are we sure this villain folds often enough? We would have to assume that even he will fold at least 50% of the time..

Don't mean to sound too results oriented, but why not flat and wait for a blank turn/river to shove? Calling off with K-hi is exponentially harder to do with no cards to come vs. two pulls of the deck... especially for this type of villain.
