Blinds are $1-$2, but game is $2-$100 spread-limit, where the most you can bet or raise is $100 over the previous bet.

I start the hand with $400 and Villain covers me.

Folds to Hijack who limps, I raise to $10 in the Cutoff with Ts8s, Button calls, Hijack calls.

Flop: QcTc8h ($33)

Hijack checks, I bet $12 (an obvious mistake, I know I need to Bet Big on wet boards), Button min-raises to $24. Then the Cutoff cold-calls the $24, so I re-raise to $124. Button calls the $124. Hijack tanks and eventually folds, so, heads-up to a

Turn: QcTc8h As (Pot: $300)

Well **** me sideways. Action’s on me, what do I do? I have $260 left and Villain covers me. $100 is the most I can bet. Bet that? Check? Check-fold? Check-call? Just puke right now?

ALSO: I would be curious to see how you’d play this at actual No-limit. I have NO idea what I would have done in that.

I don’t understand how this is the worst turn. Your opponent min-raised the flop and then called a max 3bet. If you are behind now then it is extremely likely you were already behind. KJ seems unlikely and so does AQ. I would be more worried about hands that had us beat on the flop than anything that turn helped.

If somehow this villain is capable of having a hand you were ahead of on the flop, this turn should be OK. Any nut flush draw now has a pair and could pay you off on a good river. Any hand with a jack has just turned a double gutter. So your max bet will get called or raised almost always here and you will have to dodge the river (if you’re not beat already).

EDIT: if I am playing at a table where I can rely on my opponents to be passive, I am not 3betting this flop. The minraise would be setting off alarm bells already.

Oh yes, that’s where I’m at. When he called my max 3-bet I’m thinking “okay either I’m already way behind, or he has AQ or he has a huge draw.” And with that Turn now the only hands I’m beating are like AcJc or 8c9c….

Button's flop line is very strange. The min-raise can indicate nuts...but then he just calls when you max-raise. Can't figure. If he had 88 or J9s (which he might), why not re-pop it, since you appear to be ready to play for stacks?

OTF, I would have bet 20, and called a min raise. Definitely not 3-betting that flop.
AP, I suppose check the turn and likely call. And check the river and likely call a blank. Puking is optional, but appropriate. With the spread limit, you can see now it's basically 200 to win 700.

That would have been my normal play, but with the HJ cold-caller in between it would have meant going 3-handed to the Turn….and HJ’s line really looks like a draw (what else can just cold-call a raise?)

The more I’m thinking about it the more I’m thinking my best play is to just fold on the flop? Is that nuts?

Fold on the flop to the min raise? I don't think you can do that. At that point, you're getting 10:1 immediate pot odds--about the odds of filling up on the turn. I think just call the flop and proceed very carefully from there.

RESULT:

Turn: QcTc8h As (Pot: $300)

Hero, seeing no good options, decides to try that “block bet” he’s seen on the YouTubes, and bets $40 into it, which the Villain just calls.

River: QcTc8hAs 2d (Pot: $380)

Ummm….I have about $200 left, I suppose I should check-call this time, but **** it, I bet $40 again. And Villain just calls again! He flips over …

Spoiler:
Ac9c and I win.

Fun game!

Ah, and HiJack reveals afterwards that he folded AQ on the Flop.
