hand 1: villain tanks and calls with two black 7's, which is exactly the type of hand i was trying to fold out. i guess my line wasn't convincing enough.

hand 2: i misread this hand horribly it seems. he snap called and proudly showed me his kings. i couldn't believe it, lol. i've seen random live people do weird **** like overlimping with big PP's in and out of position but i just wasn't expecting it from some young kid i overheard talking 2+2 a few minutes prior to the hand. lesson learned.
Spoiler:
Wierd, I wouldn't expect him to limp-reraise KK. Although recently I was in a game and the guy to my right was limping a ton so I would raise his limps relentlessly. One time he limp re-raised me, I called. The hand played out and he ended up mucking 99 face up... I was surprised he LRRed that hand.

one of the reasons i have said not to make snap judgements about people based on headphones, hoodie, and age.

I still dont mind 3 betting, getting it in, good for our image, and we outrun villain almost 1/3 the time even with KK. If he had 99, we look real good vs him and does wonders for our image.

lmao valid point sir.

just outta curiosity, assuming you guys took the place of the villain and were in the exact situation against a random live unknown, what would your calling ranges be?

dont know if i understand really.

If i limp in with 700 and villain raises to 75 in SB, now back to me? I have no range for calling there.

OP, I definitely don't think you "suck" but I wouldn't allow these types of plays to become too big a part of your game. When I first started playing live after transitioning from online I made plays like these a lot, and actually had a pretty high success rate at first. What I didn't realize was that I was running good and eventually I started getting called by the marginal hands that live players call with. For me to make this type of play now, I have to have been at the table for a while and really have my finger on the pulse of the game and the players that I am doing this against because you just can't give your average 2/5 live player credit for being able to make big laydowns. I understand your thinking behind both hands 1 and 2 and I don't think your play was quite as bad as some of the other posters here, but although I am a small winner at the 2/5 level I don't consider myself an expert by any means. In summary--If you had a read in both of these hands that you were super-confident with than who am I to argue that...however as a rule these types of plays are considered "spewy" and over time will probably lose you more than they win you
