Many players limp. im in bb with 4-6 and check
flop is A46 with 2 diamonds
Sb checks
Hero ???

I have table covered with 400 bb, many villains behind me, including short stack who has 22BB, but also many deep players with at least 200bb, and this table has a tendency to auto bet their ace pair. Is it better to lead here and hope ace calls, or c/r to get out the FD and take a moderate pot when betting big on turn will fold the ace.

Short stack who was tilted ended up shoving for $70 and i called, he showed QQ and spiked the Q on the turn. But ofc, if i lead any amount he folds here. I'm thinking alot about it because i lost, but even if he had an A or anyone did, do you lead or c/r or c/c and why

lead for 2/3 pot

check/raise reveals the strength of your hand

i actually don't mind revealing the strength of my hand here because it is so vulnerable to straight draw flush draw ace pair outdraw, and if ace outdraws his kicker i will never know and lose alot of chips. because half the deck i gotta shutdown on turn, maybe check raising big here and taking it down is not a bad play. if i lead, then everyone with a draw sees a turn. if i c/r i shut it down on flop

I think leading and c/r both have merit. I would favor leading but would c/r some of the time. I would also caution that bottom two on an ace-high wet board in a multiway limped pot is not as strong as it may appear. I would feel a lot better on a K64 flop as better 2-pair will show up much less but top pair hands will still pay us.

the problem with c/r is, you overrep your hand, and can't really continue vs a 3-bet

you also have to c/f on a bunch of turns, so it's better to not bloat the pot too much
